Senzatela allowed three hits, with one of those being a solo bomb from Nolan Arenado. Senzatela was one of the worst fantasy starters in baseball last year, and when you consider a wide variety of factors, there’s little reason to think that won’t be true again in 2026.

Kolek allowed three hits, issued a walk and struck out two before exiting in the Cactus League opener. The 28-year-old is battling for one of the final spots in the Kansas City rotation, but could be a multi-inning bullpen option if he doesn’t win one.

Eovaldi allowed all three runs on homers. He gave up a solo blast to Salvador Perez, and a two-run shot to Michael Massey. The stats obviously don’t mean much — if anything — and fantasy managers shouldn’t forget how good Eovaldi was in 2025 with a 1.73 ERA and 129/21 K/BB over his 130 innings.

Both runs came on a homer from Michael Arroyo. Haynes, 23, should open the year with Triple-A El Paso, but he projects as an up-and-down arm at this stage of his career.

Dunning did issue a pair of walks, but allowed just a hit and picked up a strikeout before exiting. The 31-year-old is with the Mariners on a minor-league contract and will be a depth piece behind Seattle’s impressive five-man rotation to open 2026.

This move was inevitable, as the 30-year-old hurler is expected to miss most of the 2026 season while recovering from shoulder surgery. It was done now though to free up a spot on the O’s 40-man roster for the addition of Bryan Ramos.

Those were Yoshida’s only two plate appearances before he was lifted. The Red Sox would surely still like to find a taker for Yoshida, who is owed $36 million over the next two years, but he could still contribute as a DH if any of the team’s top four outfielders get hurt. While his .282/.337/.425 line in three years as a major leaguer isn’t quite what the Red Sox were hoping for when they signed him, it still amounts to a 109 OPS+.
