Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters that Lance McCullers Jr. is available out of the bullpen for Thursday’s game against the Rockies.
McCullers is also an option to start Monday’s game against the Angels according to Espada. Some of that might depend on if the team needs to use McCullers, some of that may depend on if Luis Garcia Jr. (elbow) is ready to go. McCullers was not good Friday against the Orioles, and the right-hander shouldn’t be under fantasy consideration no matter what role he pitches in.
  • ATL Center Fielder #23

Michael Harris II (back) is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Giants.
No surprise here after Harris made an early exit from Tuesday’s eventual suspended contest in the second inning with lower back tightness. The 25-year-old outfielder battled the same issue earlier this month. He’ll likely receive a couple extra days off to address the lingering issue and hopefully put it to bed. It’ll be Mauricio Dubón drawing the start in centerfield during the nightcap contest of Wednesday’s twin bill at Truist Park.
Cholowsky, Emerson top No. 1 pick prospects
Eric Samulski and Jim Callis break down the favorites to go first overall in the 2026 MLB Draft, naming UCLA's Roch Cholowsky, high schooler Grady Emerson, and Georgia Tech's Vahn Lackey as frontrunners.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #24
Phillies optioned RHP Andrew Painter to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The writing was on the wall after Painter was torched for six runs over two innings during Wednesday’s blowout loss to the Marlins. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect has a bright future but he’s struggled mightily in his first opportunity in the majors, posting a bloated 7.06 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 53/24 K/BB ratio across 65 innings. He earns a ticket back to the minors after allowing five runs in three consecutive starts since June 6. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft fantasy formats at this juncture.
  • AZ Right Fielder #7
Corbin Carroll delivered his fifth career grand slam Wednesday in the Diamondbacks’ 8-1 drubbing of the Angels.
Carroll made it a 5-1 game in the second by taking Sam Aldegheri deep. His batting average has been coming down some, but he now has six homers in 16 games in June. He totaled seven in 55 games over the first two months.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez limited the Angels to one run over seven innings in earning his sixth victory Wednesday.
The run came right away on Zach Neto’s leadoff homer in the first. Rodriguez allowed five more hits and walked three, but he induced three double-play balls to halt any rallies. Rodriguez is putting together a pretty amazing combination in boasting a career-low ERA (2.45), a career-low strikeout rate (17.9 percent) and a career-high walk rate (9.6 percent) this season. His groundball and exit velocity numbers aren’t any better than usual, so something will have to give at some point. He’ll pitch in St. Louis and St. Pete next week.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #61
Sam Aldegheri lasted only three innings and gave up six runs Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
The big blow was Corbin Carroll’s grand slam in the second, but Aldegheri also walked three and struck out just one today. He has a 13/11 K/BB in 20 innings this season and a 35/31 K/BB in 46 2/3 innings as a major leaguer since debuting in 2024. Even in Triple-A this year, he came in at 32/23 in 46 innings. He just doesn’t belong in the majors right now, but if he sticks around, he’ll face the Orioles on Monday.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Brett Kerry allowed two runs over four innings of relief work Wednesday against the D-backs in his MLB debut.
Kerry did a nice job saving the Angels pen in his third day as a major leaguer, but that probably just means he’ll be sent back to Triple-A now. He was in line to potentially fill in for Grayson Rodriguez and start Friday, but that’s not realistic after 59 pitches today.
  • AZ Catcher #14
Gabriel Moreno went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk versus the Angels on Wednesday.
Moreno has hit .324/.434/.574 with four homers in his last 20 games. Batting mostly third and fourth for the Diamondbacks, he’s a top 10 fantasy catcher while healthy.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto went 2-for-3 with a leadoff homer and a walk Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks.
Neto at least got the Halos off on the right foot in what ended up being an 8-1 loss. The Angels were discussing moving him down in the lineup because of his recent struggles, but he has four hits, including two homers and a triple, the last two days. His .228 average isn’t much to look at, but his .330 OBP and .449 slugging percentage are fine, and he’s scored 51 runs in 72 games.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani earned the win despite allowing four earned runs on Wednesday against the Rays, striking out five and walking one while allowing seven hits.
Ohtani surrendered two earned runs or fewer in every start through June 3, but he has given up seven total runs in his past two starts. It’s going well when regression only results in an ERA spike to 1.47, and he now has seven wins on the mound this season. Manager Dave Roberts noted before the game that his minor knee issue still isn’t fully behind him, and he didn’t hit for himself against Tampa Bay. Ohtani continues to perform well anyway, and he’ll remain an elite fantasy start next time out against Minnesota.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #18
Shane McClanahan received a no-decision on Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, giving up two runs on three hits over 3 2/3 frames.
McClanahan struck out three and walked five, setting a new career high for free passes allowed. It was a disappointing result, but it was a tough matchup, and the left-hander has now made 14 starts after missing two full seasons. McClanahan now has a 3.33 ERA on the year, though he has pitched more than five innings in just three of his starts. His next start is scheduled to come at home against the Royals.
