Southpaw reliever Anthony Banda is also back on the roster as additional left-handed depth with Justin Wrobleski and Edgardo Hernandez left off.

Sborz never quite made it back from shoulder issues that caused him to miss nearly all of last year. The 32-year-old failed to make Texas’ season-opening bullpen as a non-roster invitee before posting a calamitous 7.16 ERA across 16 1/3 innings for Triple-A Round Rock this season. There’s a chance he gets another opportunity elsewhere, but his odds of ever making it back as a high-leverage arm appear extremely slim.

A.J. Puk

AZ Relief Pitcher #33

A.J. Puk (elbow) will make a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Puk will face some higher level minor-league competition after making three rehab appearances in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 31-year-old southpaw, who is coming off Tommy John surgery, is trending towards a mid-June return to Arizona’s high-leverage mix.

Corey Seager

TEX Shortstop #5

Corey Seager (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Double-A Frisco.

Seager will need at least a couple minor league at-bats to get back up to speed prior to rejoining Texas’ lineup in the coming days. The 32-year-old shortstop has been on the shelf with back inflammation since May 18. All signs point to him being ready to return later this week.

Bailey Ober

MIN Starting Pitcher #17

Bailey Ober (elbow) has been diagnosed with a mild flexor strain and will be shut down from throwing for 10-14 days.

Ober will receive a second opinion to confirm that his UCL remains intact, but it’s an extremely encouraging initial diagnosis after hitting the injured list with elbow inflammation over the weekend. There should be a definitive return table once he’s cleared to resume throwing later this month.

Ryan Waldschmidt is out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Dodgers.

Waldschmidt went 2-for-11 with five strikeouts in three games against the Mariners over the weekend. It’ll be fellow rookie Tommy Troy in left field on Monday night against the Dodgers to face starter Emmet Sheehan.

DET Starting Pitcher #29

The Detroit Free Press’ Evan Petzold reports Tarik Skubal (elbow) could potentially make a minor league rehab start on Saturday for Triple-A Toledo.

Nothing official from the Tigers yet. Skubal told reporters that he felt great after wrapping up a 64-pitch simulated game on Monday at Tropicana Field. The 29-year-old fantasy ace underwent an innovative NanoScope procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow last month and could potentially make a minor league rehab start this weekend, which would put him on track to rejoin Detroit’s rotation by mid-June.

Robby Ahlstrom

TEX Relief Pitcher #54

Rangers selected the contract of LHP Robby Ahlstrom from Triple-A Round Rock.

Ahlstrom receives his first opportunity with the Rangers after compiling a strong 2.76 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 33/8 K/BB ratio across 29 1/3 innings on the doorstep of the majors this season. He’s also notched a pair of saves during that span. The unheralded 26-year-old southpaw will operate in low-leverage spots for the Rangers initially.
