The 33-year-old spent most of the 2025 season in the Diamondbacks organization before getting released in August while he was on the minor league injured list. He had just an 8.10 ERA and 2.40 WHIP in 3 1/3 MLB innings and has a 4.85 ERA and 10.7% walk rate in his career.

Judge has three homers in seven games for the Yankees this spring to go along with the two he hit for Team USA. That’s more than his typical spring training output of late; he had two homers in 16 games in 2023, none in 10 games in 2024 and one in 14 games last year.

Warren concluded an exceptional spring with a 1.42 ERA and a 22/3 K/BB in 25 1/3 innings. He was actually hit rather hard today — the 10 balls in play against him averaged 99.1 mph off the bat — but most of the contact was on the ground. Warren is likely to start the Yankees’ third game of the season Saturday in San Francisco, and he seems like a fine streaming option for those who have drafted some injured pitchers.

It appeared to be a scripted move, as the Yankees had a number of relievers they wanted to use in their Grapefruit finale. However, it might be notable that Bednar’s hardest of his five fastballs came in at 94.4 mph today. His velocity has been down all spring, which isn’t necessarily a major concern, but it’d be nice if he were headed in the other direction at this point. Today’s average of 94.0 mph with his fastball was down a bit from his previous spring average of 94.8 mph and a full three mph off his 2025 average of 97.0 mph. Still, Bednar has pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in Yankees camp, and he turned in four scoreless frames with eight strikeouts for Team USA in the WBC.

Nola gave up two runs in the fourth and then a leadoff homer to Aaron Judge in the fifth, at which point he was lifted. He ended up with four strikeouts and three walks. His velocity, which was a little better than his 2025 norms at the beginning of spring training, was down some today. He averaged 90.9 mph with his fastball, which is one mph off 2025 average of 91.9 mph.

That means Luis Gil is the odd man out, at least for now. It’s unclear if he’ll remain back at the team’s spring training facility to keep working and stay stretched out as a starter or if he’ll head north with the team and operate in a long relief role out of the bullpen for the time being. Max Fried, Cam Schlittler, Will Warren and Ryan Weathers will start the club’s first four games.

That means Ryan Feltner will begin the year as the team’s fifth starter. Dollander, 24, didn’t do himself any favors during Cactus League play, posting a miserable 6.43 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and a 10/7 K/BB ratio over 14 innings. It’s difficult to envision him working through his issues in short spurts in the bullpen though, so perhaps the Rockies would be better served keeping him stretched out at Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 28-year-old hurler appeared to be looking at his finger as he exited, leading to speculation that he could be dealing with a blister. Either way, with just days before the start of the regular season, this obviously puts his first start in jeopardy. Stay tuned, as the Reds should have an update on his status shortly.

Gasser had a shot at earning a spot on the Opening Day roster, but he struggled to a 5.11 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 14/4 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings in his four Cactus League starts. He’s expected to start the year in the rotation at Triple-A Nashville and should get an opportunity with the Brewers at some point during the 2026 campaign.

No real surprises among this batch of cuts for the Rockies. These moves get them down to 36 players remaining in major league camp as we inch closer to Opening Day. Look for them to finalize their roster in the coming days.

Walker had taken a called third strike in the third inning, but got the call overturned on a challenge. He then clobbered the very next pitch from Cristian Javier for a 413-foot (111.3 mph EV) solo shot that tied the game at one run apiece. The 23-year-old outfielder had a rough spring overall at the dish, hitting .205 (9-for-44) with one home run and three RBI.
