  • FA Starting Pitcher #28
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers are among the teams interested in free agent right-hander Nick Martinez.
The Tigers seem intent on adding at least one more starting pitcher to their rotation mix before the 2026 season begins, but they appear to be shopping in the bargain bin. Petzold also notes that the Tigers have been linked to Chris Bassitt and Jose Quintana as well. The market has been remarkably slow to develop for Martinez and other mid-tier starting pitchers so far this winter.

Diamondbacks signed RHP Derek Law to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Law, 35, missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing surgery to repair a tear in his flexor tendon. He’s expected to be ready to return in April or May. He’ll earn $1.5 million if he makes the Diamondbacks’ active roster and can earn up to an additional $500,000 in incentives. Given his success in the two years before the injury, it makes for a nice low-risk signing for the Diamondbacks.
What's in store for the Nationals without Gore?
Eric Samulski reveals the "names to know" among the five prospects the Nationals received from the Texas Rangers in exchange for pitcher MacKenzie Gore and his 'considerable upside.'
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #45
Angels designated RHP Osvaldo Bido for assignment.
The Angels just claimed Bido off of waivers from the Marlins on Tuesday, but they needed to clear a roster spot after acquiring Jayvien Sandridge from the Yankees on Thursday so Bido got the boot once again. The 30-year-old right-hander has been claimed off of waivers four times already since the 2025 season ended — by the Braves, Rays, Marlins and Angels — so it seems likely that he’ll generate interest once again this time around.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #88
Angels acquired LHP Jayvien Sandridge from the Yankees for cash considerations.
The Yankees had designated the 26-year-old southpaw for assignment earlier in the week, so they were willing to flip him for anything that they could get. Sandridge made his big league debut with the Yankees in 2025, giving up two runs on one hit and a pair of walks over 2/3 of an inning in his lone appearance. His strikeout upside makes him a candidate to crack the Halos’ Opening Day bullpen with a strong showing in Cactus League action.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #44
White Sox designated INF Bryan Ramos for assignment.
The White Sox needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Seranthony Domínguez on Thursday and unfortunately it looks like Ramos was the odd-man out this time around. The 23-year-old infielder has slashed a cringe-inducing .198/.244/.333 with three homers, 13 RBI and a 26/7 K/BB ratio over 120 plate appearances with the White Sox over the past two seasons. He could potentially attract some interest on waivers.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #48
White Sox signed RHP Seranthony Domínguez to a two-year, $20 million contract.
The deal, which was agreed to on Friday, is now official. The 31-year-old hurler is expected to open the season as the White Sox’ closer, which makes him relevant for fantasy purposes. Domínguez registered a 3.16 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 79/36 K/BB ratio over 62 2/3 innings between the Orioles and Blue Jays in 2025. He has 40 career saves to his name, with a high of 16 coming during his rookie campaign with the Phillies back in 2018.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman
Cubs signed INF Karson Simas to a minor league contract.
The 24-year-old infielder spent the first seven years of his minor league career in the Red Sox’ organization. In 2025, he slashed .244/.313/.331 with four homers, 30 RBI, 17 stolen bases and an 85/26 K/BB ratio over 317 plate appearances across three minor league levels. He’ll add infield depth in the upper minors for the Cubs.
  • According to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, the Astros have shown interest in a reunion with Christian Vazquez.
With Victor Caratini leaving via free agency, the Astros are in the market for a backup to work behind Yainer Diaz. Vazquez, previously functioned in that role for the Astros in the second half of the 2022 season. He had a rough year at the dish with the Twins in 2025, slashing a woeful .189/.271/.274 with three homers and 14 RBI in 214 plate appearances.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #68
Cubs signed RHP Gabe Klobosits to a minor league contract.
The 30-year-old hurler hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since making 11 appearances out of the Nationals’ bullpen during the 2021 season. He pitched in the independent Atlantic League and American Association in 2025, compiling a 2.08 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and a 42/15 K/BB ratio over 34 2/3 innings of work.
  • ATL 3rd Baseman #86
Braves signed INF Jordan Groshans to a minor league contract.
The 26-year-old infielder was a first-round selection (12th overall) by the Blue Jays from the 2018 draft class. He hasn’t seen any big league action since getting 65 plate appearances with the Marlins during the 2022 campaign. He spent the 2025 season in the Royals’ organization where he slashed .284/.360/.362 with just three homers, 36 RBI and zero stolen bases over 275 plate appearances between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha. He’ll add infield depth in the upper minors for the Braves.
  • WSH Catcher #15
Nationals sent C Riley Adams outright to Triple-A Rochester.
Adams has the right to become a free agent, but he’ll probably stay put; he knew this might be coming when he signed a one-year, $1 million contract before the non-tender deadline and the split contract guarantees him a $500,000 salary in the minors. He’ll still have a chance to battle for a backup gig in spring training. As things stand now, it’ll probably be either he or Drew Millas backing up Keibert Ruiz initially, though Harry Ford could spoil things for everyone.
