ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the White Sox have signed right-handed reliever Seranthony Domínguez to a two-year, $20 million contract.
Passan also notes that Dominguez is expected to close for the White Sox this upcoming season. Dominguez pitched to a 3.16 ERA in 62 2/3 innings with the Orioles and Blue Jays last season with a 79/36 K/BB ratio. The 31-year-old also has experience at the end of games with 40 career saves. The White Sox aren’t likely to win many games, but Dominguez has been reliable enough to push for 20 saves if he keeps the role over the full season.

Yankees recalled OF Spencer Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
He’ll get some every day run while Aaron Judge is out, at least for the time being. Jones’ contact rate likely makes him a volatile enough player to stay away from for the time being, but he’s shown he has the speed and power to be a fantasy contributor if he can hit the ball.
Judge (rib fracture) set to miss at least 4 weeks
James Schiano discusses the news of Aaron Judge hitting the IL with a rib stress fracture and whether fantasy managers can truly expect to see him back in just four weeks.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Yankees placed Aaron Judge (rib) on the 10-day injured list.
He’ll be out for at least 4-6 weeks and will be re-evaluated afterwards, likely pushing his return past the All-Star break if not longer. Judge’s absence should lower runs and RBI expectations for the rest of the Yankees lineup. Spencer Jones figures to be his direct replacement in the lineup for now, at least until Jasson Dominguez is healthy. Judge had a down May while playing through this injury.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18
Angels sent 1B Nolan Schanuel on a rehab assignment to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
He’ll hang out close to Los Angeles and is still a possibility to be activated at some point for the Freeway Series between the Dodgers and Angels, though it doesn’t look like it will be tonight based on this transaction.
  • SF Catcher #13
Giants sent C Logan Porter outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
He cleared waivers. The 30-year-old is just a depth piece for the Giants behind the plate, even after the Patrick Bailey trade.
  • CWS Right Fielder #28
White Sox sent Everson Pereira (pectoral) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Charlotte.
Pereira was hitting well — .250/.310/.453 in 71 plate appearances — before being placed on the IL at the end of April. It’s possible he’ll be back in the near future and reclaim a platoon role (or perhaps more) from Derek Hill and Rikuu Nishida in the outfield.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #77
Giants recalled RHP Carson Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento.
Seymour is carrying a 4.04 ERA in nine starts and 11 overall appearances for the River Cats. There’s nothing special here, but Seymour could be a reasonable depth arm and may be asked to eat some innings over the weekend. It’s plausible that he could be cover if Landen Roupp (back) needs an early exit on Saturday.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #71
Giants optioned RHP Wilkin Ramos to Triple-A Sacramento.
Ramos allowed five earned runs in two games during his major league debut with the Giants. He heads down for a fresh arm for today’s matinee against the Cubs.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #77
Nationals sent LHP DJ Herz on a rehab assignment to the FCL Nationals.
Herz figures to get a long buildup after just throwing to live hitters for the first time in mid-May. Depending on how it goes, he could be a factor in the second half of the season. Herz, still just 25, had a 4.16 ERA in 88 2/3 innings pitched in 2024 while striking out 106.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #64
Cubs optioned RHP Tyler Ferguson to Triple-A Iowa.
He had only been acquired from the A’s in early May and was only active in the majors for a brief spell here. Ferguson allowed four earned runs in his only appearance in the bigs this year with the Athletics, and has a combined 5.12 ERA in 19 1/3 innings with Triple-A Las Vegas and Iowa, though it has been lower in Iowa at 3.52.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #30
Cubs activated RHP Edward Cabrera from the 15-day injured list.
He’ll get the ball today against the Giants in Wrigley Field matinee. Cabrera had struggled before heading on IL with his blister injury, allowing three or more earned runs in each of his final four starts before his abbreviated exit from May 20’s game against the Brewers with the blister. Still, he’s talented enough to be a worthwhile roll today against the Giants.
