Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher notes that the righty had a 3.05 ERA through his first seven starts but now has a 9.27 mark over his past five. He’s one to avoid in fantasy in his next appearance, which is scheduled to come on the road against the Dodgers.

Baker threw 10 of them for strikes, allowing one hit while picking up one strikeout. Tampa Bay has used him as the primary closer, as his 16 saves dwarf the next highest on the team, which consists of three relievers tied at two. Baker’s strike-throwing ability, strong results, and team commitment continue to push him up the closer ranks as the season moves along.

Misiorowski will pitch at Coors Field next time out, but that really shouldn’t scare anyone (besides the Rockies).

Any sort of setback for Megill could change things, but it really looks like Abner Uribe lost some standing in the Brewers pen for his gesture against the Cardinals last week. Megill has three saves since, with Uribe working the eighth in front of him in the last two. Megill had just one save in the month prior to the incident. He’s turned in six straight scoreless appearances now to lower his ERA to 4.29.

After going six innings in a no-hitter last time out, Imai allowed only three hits today. Unfortunately, one was a 347-foot homer from Jake Bauers that would have been a double or an out in most ballparks. Imai struck out five and walked two while throwing fastballs and sliders on 105 of his 110 pitches. He’ll probably need a third pitch once the league gets more used to him, but for now, he can more than hold his own if he continues to avoid an excessive number of free passes. He issued two today. He’ll pitch at home against the A’s next weekend.

Bauers’ homer off Tatsuya Imai was hit 347 feet into the Crawford Boxes. Statcast says it would have left the yard at seven ballparks. Bauers’ also had the game’s hardest-hit ball, a 109-mph liner to left-center, but that one turned into an out. Bauers is batting .280/.351/.491, so he hasn’t lost any playing time with Christian Yelich back. Instead, it’s often Andrew Vaughn sitting right now.

It resulted in just one hit, but Paredes today had probably the best showing anyone has had against Jacob Misiorowski this month, hitting line drives to the outfield at 106 mph, 105 mph and 97 mph. The outs came on 100-mph fastballs, and he doubled off a 92-mph slider.

Sanders was only up for a game, and tossed a scoreless inning. The Pirates will announce a corresponding move before their next game.
