Jordan Wicks will open the 2026 on the injured list due to a nerve issue in his left arm.
The 26-year-old hurler had his throwing program paused in late February due to inflammation in his forearm. While it’s encouraging that there are no concerns with his UCL, he is dealing with a nerve issue and those can be notoriously tricky. There’s no timeline as of yet on when he’ll resume throwing.

Royals’ manager Matt Quatraro announced the order of his starting rotation on Friday, with Kris Bubic scheduled to start the team’s home opener on Monday against the Twins.
It had already been announced that Cole Ragans would pitch against the Braves in Atlanta on Opening Day. He’ll be followed by Michael Wacha and Seth Lugo, with Noah Cameron rounding out the rotation and pitching on Wednesday against the Twins. It’s possible that Cameron could actually get pushed back to Thursday with Ragans working Wednesday on regular rest, but they may not want to push their ace so early in the season.
Who broke Dan Patrick's Sammy Sosa statue?
The I-Team is on the case to trace the culprit after Dan Patrick's Sammy Sosa statue was found in pieces at the Mancave.
  • PHI Center Fielder #91
Justin Crawford tripled and scored a run in a tie against the Tigers on Friday.
Crawford’s triple came off Tarik Skubal and he came around to score on a Bryce Harper single. The 22-year-old has looked solid this spring with a .277 average and .320 slugging percentage, and he’s one of the fastest players in the sport; giving him a chance to pile up the steals if he gets on base enough to run. The only real question is power, and it’s what limits his fantasy upside for 2026 and beyond.
  • DET Catcher #13
Dillon Dingler hit a two-run homer and drove homer three runs in a 4-4 tie against the Phillies on Friday.
Don’t worry, tie scores are less than a week away from becoming impossible. Dingler’s homer was the first of the spring, and it came off Tanner Banks in the seventh. The 27-year-old backstop is one of the best defenders behind the plate, but doesn’t do enough offensively to be a starter in most fantasy leagues.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #51
Brady Singer (blister) is expected to make a spring start Monday for the Reds.
Singer told reporters that the blister issue that cuased him to leave Wednesday’s start is “pretty much gone.” Assuming no flare ups, he should be ready to roll for the regular season.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #36
Rays optioned RHP Joe Boyle, OF Justyn-Henry Malloy and INF/OF Richie Palacios to Triple-A Durham.
Boyle has shown the ability to miss bats with electric stuff, but he’s also shown he rarely has any idea where his arsenal will end up, so he won’t make the Opening Day roster. Both Malloy and Palacios figure to be up-and-down for Tampa Bay as bench options.
  • TB 3rd Baseman #13
Junior Caminero doubled in a run to help the Rays to a 2-0 win Friday over the Red Sox.
Caminero plated Yandy Diaz with an RBI double in the first to give the Rays an early 1-0 lead. The 22-year-old hasn’t shown much pop in the Grapefruit League with a .389 slugging percentage, but there are few young hitters with more power than Caminero. He should be among the homer leaders in 2026.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #61
Cristopher Sánchez worked five innings of one-run baseball versus the Tigers on Friday.
In his final spring outing, Sánchez struck out four, allowed just two hits and didn’t walk a batter. The 29-year-old was named the Opening Day starter for the Phillies, and the 2025 Cy Young runner-up is a good bet to again be a top ten fantasy starter in 2026.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Tarik Skubal was charged for four runs — three earned — over four innings Friday against the Phillies.
Skubal’s final spring start was far from his best, although he did strike out five and didn’t issue a walk. The defending Cy Young winner will be on the bump against the Padres on Thursday in San Diego. If you’re at all concerned about Skubal’s spring numbers, maybe go for a walk or go see a movie and stop thinking about baseball for a while.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #61
Cristopher Sánchez will start Opening Day for the Phillies against the Rangers.
Sánchez will get the nod and square off against Nathan Eovaldi. This would likely have been Zack Wheeler if Wheeler was healthy, but he’s not, and Sánchez was terrific in 2025 where he finished second in Cy Young voting behind Paul Skenes. He should once again be a very solid fantasy option in 2026.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #24
Simeon Woods Richardson was charged for two runs in five innings of work in his start against the Blue Jays on Friday.
Woods Richardson allowed nine hits in the contest, so this could have gone much worse. The 25-year-old will likely be the fourth starter to open the season for Minnesota and is the definition of “just a streaming option” at this stage of his career.
