Mets reassigned RHPs Ryan Lambert and Carl Edwards Jr., LHP Joe Jacques, C Kevin Parada, INFs Ryan Clifford, Jackson Cluff, Grae Kessinger and Jacob Reimer and OFs Ji Hwan Bae, A.J. Ewing and Jose Ramos to minor league camp.

Lambert comes as a bit of a surprise, as he had looked sharp during Grapefruit League play. He should get an opportunity to work out of the Mets’ bullpen at some point in 2026. Edwards will continue to work as a starter at Triple-A Syracuse where he adds quality rotation depth that will be needed throughout the season.

There had been some hope that Williams would be able to return for Sunday’s finale, but he’ll miss his fourth consecutive game due to soreness in his upper extremities. Joshua Kuroda-Grauer will start in his place at shortstop and will bat seventh for the A’s.

Willson Contreras (hand) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Sunday’s regular season finale against the Cubs.

Contreras hasn’t played since September 17 when he was hit in the hand by a pitch. It’s encouraging that he’ll be able to get a couple of live at-bats in before the Red Sox open the postseason on Tuesday against the Yankees. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter and will bat third against Cubs’ left-hander Shota Imanaga.

Seiya Suzuki is not in the Cubs’ starting lineup for Sunday’s regular season finale against the Red Sox.

It’s nothing more than a routine day of rest for the 32-year-old slugger. Suzuki has had a terrific season in the middle of the Cubs’ starting lineup, slashing .270/.368/.473 with 26 homers, 86 RBI and three stolen bases in 634 plate appearances. Michael Conforto will start in his place in right field and will bat fifth against Red Sox’ right-hander Tanner Houck.

Yoho gave up two runs on three hits in just 1/3 of an inning on Saturday, which appears to have earned him a demotion back to Triple-A. The 26-year-old righty registered a 6.87 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and a 23/10 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings in 19 appearances with the Guardians.

Bryson Stott will again slide over and cover second base while Edmundo Sosa starts at third base and will bat seventh for the Phillies.
