Willi Castro (knee) is back in the starting lineup for the Rockies on Wednesday against the Reds.

Castro has missed the last four games with a knee injury, but he’ll be back in the lineup at second base and hitting fifth on Wednesday. Since a left-hander pitcher is on the mound, Edouard Julien will shift to the bench, as will Troy Johnston and Jake McCarthy, with Jordan Beck and Brenton Doyle in the lineup and batting first and second, respectively.

Rangers optioned LHP Robby Ahlstrom to Triple-A Round Rock.

The 27-year-old southpaw has really struggled in 42 appearances with the Rangers this season, posting a 6.08 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 34/15 K/BB ratio over 37 innings of work. He’ll continue to refine his craft at the Triple-A level for the time being.

Rangers transferred RHP Cole Winn to the 60-day injured list.

Winn has been shelved since the end of August due to a right rotator cuff strain. Once it became clear that he wasn’t going to be able to return this season, the Rangers decided to put his 40-man roster spot to better use. No word yet on whether or not Winn will require surgery over the offseason.

Angels recalled OF Bryce Teodosio from Triple-A Salt Lake.

He’ll take the place of the injured Kyren Paris (finger) on the Angels’ active roster. Teodosio, 27, has hit just .204/.264/.245 with zero homers, two RBI and four stolen bases in 54 plate appearances with the Angels this season. He can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Angels placed INF/OF Kyren Paris on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to September 15, with a right index finger fracture.

Paris suffered the injury during Thursday’s game. He’ll miss the remainder of the 2026 season. Bryce Teodosio was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his place on the club’s active roster.

Phillies’ manager Don Mattingly told reporters on Friday that Jonathan Bowlan (groin) is not expected to land on the injured list.

The Phillies are hopeful that he’ll be able to return before the end of the regular season, so they’ll take it day-to-day for the time being. That means the Phillies’ bullpen will be shorthanded for remainder of their weekend series against the Mets in New York.

Yankees placed OF Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to September 17, with a right calf strain.

Judge will be eligible to return for the final game of the regular season next Sunday, but it remains unclear if he’ll be ready to return at that time. The Yankees’ priority will be to get him ready to go for the start of the postseason.

Cam Smith is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Braves.

It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 23-year-old outfielder. After homering in three straight games last week, Smith is just 1-for-20 (.050) with six strikeouts over his last six contests. Perhaps a day off to clear his head will do some good. LaMonte Wade Jr. will draw a start in his place and will bat eighth against Braves’ right-hander Tyler Mahle.

Dodgers optioned RHP Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Knack spent just one day with the Dodgers this time around, firing four scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts against the Reds on Thursday. His departure clears a spot on the Dodgers’ active roster for the return of Edwin Díaz on Friday.

Dodgers activated RHP Edwin Díaz from the 15-day injured list.

As anticipated, Díaz returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen for Friday night’s battle against the Giants. The expectation is that the Dodgers will ease him back into high-leverage situations, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him to be a viable option for saves over the final 10 days of the regular season. Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move on Friday.

Hunter Goodman (thumb) returned to the Rockies’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Mariners.

Goodman missed each of the past three games due to soreness in his right thumb. He’s back behind the dish for the Rockies and batting cleanup against Mariners’ right-hander Bryan Woo. The 26-year-old slugger is just two home runs shy of eclipsing the 40-homer plateau for the first time in his career.
