  • MIN 2nd Baseman #15

Luke Keaschall singled, walked three times, stole a base and scored twice versus the Nationals on Tuesday.
Keaschall is batting .313 with four doubles, six walks and three steals in his last 10 games. It’s been just enough to push his OPS up to .600 for the first time all season. The bat should continue to come around, which would make him pretty valuable if he keeps running; he’s 8-for-8 stealing bases so far.

Ricky Tiedemann (elbow) allowed one run over one inning on Tuesday in a minor league rehab appearance in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Tiedemann struck out two of the five batters he faced and was reportedly sitting in the mid-90’s with his fastball, topping out at 97 mph. The 23-year-old southpaw remains one of Toronto’s most intriguing pitching prospects, even though injuries have prevented him from reaching his lofty potential as one of the top prospects in baseball just a few years ago. It’s a bit unclear how the Blue Jays will proceed with his development since he could probably help their bullpen in the late stages of the regular season as opposed to stretching out as a starter with an eye towards the future.
Gomez becoming trustworthy closer for Twins
Eric Samulski discusses Twins closer Yoendrys Gomez's recent performances on the mound, in which he's had two saves in his last three appearances and is turning out to be a reliable option in Minnesota's bullpen.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #57
Shane Bieber (elbow) will make another minor league rehab start on Wednesday for Triple-A Buffalo.
Bieber is aiming to build up to roughly 75 pitches in his next rehab outing and appears to be close to returning to Toronto for his season debut. The 31-year-old looked sharp his last time out, striking out four over five shutout innings last Thursday. He’s isn’t too far away from making it back to the majors.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #67
Seth Lugo (concussion) is on track to be activated from the injured list to start Friday’s game against the Royals.
Lugo completed a bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and appears poised to rejoin Kansas City’s rotation later this week. The 36-year-old veteran hit the concussion injured list last Friday after being struck in the head by a comebacker during his previous start against the Rangers.
  • SF Left Fielder #17
Heliot Ramos (quad) will kick off a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
Ramos should make it back to San Francisco’s lineup before the end of June. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has been out with a right quad strain since mid-May.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Cole Ragans (elbow) remains shut down from throwing and will undergo further evaluation later this week.
Ragans underwent an MRI earlier this week after suffering a setback last week in his recovery from an elbow impingement that put him on the injured list back in early May. Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters Tuesday that they want to get a concrete answer in terms of what’s going on with his elbow, which is why he’s being sent to visit another specialist. There should be a clearer idea of his next steps at some point later this week. It certainly doesn’t sound like Ragans will be back at any point in the near future.
  • TOR Right Fielder #47
Addison Barger (elbow) is close to starting a minor league rehab assignment.
Barger has been on the shelf working his way back from elbow inflammation since mid-May. The 26-year-old has progressed to hitting off a pitching machine and throwing from a distance of 150 feet. The hope is that he’ll be ready to start a rehab assignment at some point relatively soon.
  • MIL Shortstop #87
Cooper Pratt is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth in his major-league debut on Tuesday against the Guardians.
The better real-life than fantasy tag gets thrown about too liberally at times, but that certainly feels like the case with Pratt, who remains a bit of a work in progress from an offensive standpoint. He’s more than ready to handle the defensive responsibilities, which is why he was officially promoted from Triple-A Nashville prior to this contest. The 21-year-old signed an eight-year contract extension back in April and projects as Milwaukee’s long-term shortstop of the future. He’s more of a wait-and-see prospect from a pure fantasy perspective since his offensive upside is rather limited. He’ll have plenty of time to learn and improve at the highest level now that he’s arrived.
  • LAA 2nd Baseman #2
Oswald Peraza is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.
Peraza takes a seat after being involved in an awkward collision with teammate Jo Adell in shallow right field during Monday’s series opener. It’ll be Nick Madrigal taking over at second base in his absence.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
The Mariners will transition to a six-man piggyback rotation plan later this week through next month’s All-Star break.
There’s a lot to unpack here. According to Mariners general manager Justin Hollander, it was a unanimous decision by all six starters — Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, Bryan Woo, Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo — to move to a schedule where each pitcher will rotate through and have piggyback days. Ironically, the arrangement will begin with Castillo piggybacking out of the bullpen with Miller during Friday’s series opener against the Red Sox. The decision will have a significant fantasy impact simply by reducing the overall volume for each starter over the next few weeks. The unorthodox arrangement feels like a temporary stopgap solution until the arrival of top prospects Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan later this summer ultimately forces Seattle to move on from at least one of their veteran arms.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Verlander (hip) will be activated from the injured list to start on Saturday against the White Sox.
Verlander will make his return to Detroit’s rotation after missing 11 weeks due to a hip issue. The 43-year-old future Hall of Famer threw a 66-pitch simulated game at Daikin Park on Monday and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his return from the injured list. It’ll be his first start at Comerica Park in a Tigers uniform since 2017.
