Luke Keaschall went 1-for-4 with a run scored during Friday’s loss to the Brewers.

At some point, the Twins are going to have to give intriguing infield prospect Kaelen Culpepper, who is tearing the cover off the ball at Triple-A St. Paul recently, a look at the highest level. The obvious move would be to jettison Royce Lewis from third base, especially since he’s hitting .165 overall this season. However, it’s worth noting that Keaschall is hitting just .224/.306/.292 with one homer and 10 steals through 44 games. The 23-year-old former top prospect hit at every rung of the minor-league ladder and looked impressive during last year’s injury-shortened rookie campaign.

Tommy Troy left Saturday’s game against the Dodgers in the fifth with a right shoulder contusion.

Troy was already a little hobbled after fouling a ball off his foot and then went crashing into the wall making a catch in the fifth. He’s probably day-to-day. Jorge Barrosa took over for him.

Javier Assad allowed two runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Cubs’ 5-3 victory over the Reds on Saturday.

Assad gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out four. The 28-year-old right-hander gave up solo home runs to Nathaniel Lowe and Eugenio Suarez in the fourth inning, but otherwise kept Cincinnati off the scoreboard. Assad remains a risky streaming option as he takes a 4.11 ERA into the All-Star break.

LaMonte Wade Jr. went 1-for-4 with a grand slam against the Rangers on Saturday.

Wade’s home run was his second of the season. He hit a grand slam off Kumar Rocker in the third inning. Wade is a strong-side platoon option for the Astros in right field. That gives him some value in AL-Only leagues.
