Rafaela tallied three singles in his first three at-bats on the night and drove in two runners in the fourth inning to put the Red Sox up 4-0. Rafaela has swung a hot bat as of late, hitting safely in four-straight games while slashing .310/.370/.512 on the month and swiping four bags. He remains a key bat for a Red Sox lineup that has scored five or more runs in four of its last five games.

It would be stunning if Arraez, who will hit free agency in the offseason, wasn’t on the move prior to next week’s trade deadline. Chisholm received some extra time off to rest and recover after being removed from the 11th inning of Thursday’s series finale against the White Sox with bilateral cramping. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern. The 28-year-old power/speed combo infielder should return to New York’s lineup at some point this weekend.

Guerrero was back in Toronto’s lineup after missing one game due to right hamstring tightness. The 27-year-old slugger has experienced an unexplained power outage this season, hitting just six big flies through 104 contests. Amazingly, none of them have been hit at the Rogers Centre. It’s one of the strangest outlier campaigns from an established fantasy star that any of us have witnessed.

Kurtz was lifted for a pinch-hitter with the Athletics trailing by nearly two touchdowns in the eighth inning. There was some concern after the 23-year-old on-base machine was hit by a pitch on the left forearm earlier this week. However, a precautionary MRI came back clean for any structural issues. He’s played two straight contests since the incident.

Vest will undergo a procedure to repair a stress fracture at the bone tip of his elbow. He’s also going to have hip surgery as well. The 31-year-old high-leverage arm is facing an extended absence, but should have plenty of time to rehab and be ready for spring training.

Made capped the epic five-hit performance with an eighth-inning grand slam to join Athletics top prospect Leo De Vries as the only teenage to record five hits and two homers in a game since 2005, per MLB Pipeline. The 19-year-old prodigy has been on an absolute rocket ship towards Milwaukee since a sublime Dominican Summer League campaign back in 2024. He’s universally regarded as the top prospect in baseball and is thriving as one of the youngest hitters in Double-A, slashing .287/.359/.464 with 12 round-trippers and 29 stolen bases through 89 games. It’s impossible to dismiss the slim possibility given how meteoric his rise has been to this point that the Brewers decide to give him a taste of the majors and postseason action before the end of the year. It happened with Junior Caminero a couple years ago.

Boston’s top pitching prospect by a country mile, Eyanson has compiled a microscopic 1.32 ERA and 94/26 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings during his professional debut after being selected in the third round of last year’s draft. The 21-year-old is unlikely to reach the big leagues this season given the organization’s pitching depth at the highest level, but he could factor into their rotation plans at some point early next year.

Caminiti is the type of young southpaw that figures to rise quickly once his secondary offerings made the proverbial leap. That appears to be happening. The 19-year-old was the top-ranked prep arm in the 2024 draft class and somehow fell to Atlanta with the 24th selection. He attacks hitters with a crossfire delivery and an arsenal that features a mid-90’s fastball in addition to slider and changeup. The slider has a chance to be a plus pitch and gives him a chance to be a strikeout machine if he reaches his ceiling. He’s a name that fantasy managers outside of dynasty leagues should start paying attention to.

The Twins definitely needed rotation depth, but Kremer has struggled to a 6.50 ERA in his seven starts this year, and while he’s under control for 2027, he seems like a non-tender candidate right now. Maybe he’ll bounce back — he was typically an average starter or a little better each season from 2022 through 2025 — but he’s never been all that exciting with his middling velocity and strikeout numbers. The Orioles could replace him with Trey Gibson or Cade Povich for now, and they should get Chris Bassitt back sometime in August. Zebby Matthews might be bumped from the Twins’ rotation in order to open up a spot.

Reyes, 18, hit .296/.409/.541 in the FCL before moving up to Low-A ball a week ago. Baseball America had him as the Twins’ No. 12 prospect in spite of his lack of experience, suggesting that he has a real upside as a potential corner outfield power bat.
