It’s a bit curious because the Yankees were off on Monday, but there’s no indication that the 34-year-old is dealing with any injury. The Yankees are likely just looking to give him a bit of an extra breather. Jose Caballero will start in right field and bat eighth on Tuesday with Amed Rosario off the paternity list and batting cleanup while playing third base.

Trent Grisham

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Trent Grisham is expected to miss multiple weeks with his right hamstring strain.

Grisham was placed on the injured list June 13 with his strain, and it won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list. Jasson Dominguez is expected to get the bulk of the playing time in Grisham’s absence, although Dominguez may not be available Tuesday after having a tooth pulled. If all goes well, Grisham should be back around the start of July.

Jasson Domínguez

Aaron Boone told the Talkin’ Yanks podcast that the team is unsure of Jasson Dominguez’s availability after he had a tooth pulled Tuesday.

The Yankees will have to wait and see how Dominguez is feeling to see if he can play Tuesday against the White Sox. If the 23-year-old can’t go, Jose Caballero could see the start in his absence. Either way, this shouldn’t be a long-term absence for Dominguez.

Ricky Tiedemann

TOR Starting Pitcher #33

Blue Jays LHP prospect Ricky Tiedemann (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on Tuesday.

Tiedemann is still the 4th-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays’ system, but injuries have limited him to just 61 innings since the end of the 2022 season. He missed all of the 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery and then felt renewed elbow soreness during spring training. The Blue Jays are likely not expecting much from the 23-year-old this season, but it would be nice to see him get some healthy starts at the minor league level.

DJ Herz

WSH Starting Pitcher #77

DJ Herz (elbow) will continue his rehab assignment with Single-A Fredericksburg on Tuesday.

Herz is still recovering from Tommy John surgery from last April. He started his rehab assignment in the FCL earlier this month and could move to Double-A or Triple-A after this start. The 25-year-old had a 4.16 ERA in 88 2/3 innings in 2024 and could make a handful of starts for the Nationals to end the season if all goes well.

Kyle Tucker

LAD Right Fielder #23

Kyle Tucker went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer as the Dodgers bested the Rays 4-3 on Monday.

Tucker’s sixth homer was hit 384 feet off Nick Martinez in the second inning. Although he still hasn’t gotten hot at any point this season, he has managed to drive in 12 runs in the Dodgers’ last 11 games. The nice things about playing for a powerhouse is that Tucker is tied for 30th in the league in runs scored and 41st in RBI without doing much of anything to deserve it. It’s still likely that he’ll flip the switch at some point.

Eric Lauer

LAD Starting Pitcher #33

Eric Lauer wasn’t involved in the decision Monday after allowing three runs in six innings versus the Rays.

Everyone would rather see River Ryan making these starts for the Dodgers, but the team is now to 4-0 in Lauer’s outings, even though Lauer has just one win during the span. He’s posted a 3.22 ERA and a 14/5 K/BB in 22 1/3 innings since being acquired from the Blue Jays. Most likely, he’ll stay in the rotation and face the Twins next Monday.

Tanner Scott

LAD Relief Pitcher #66

Tanner Scott worked a perfect ninth with a one-run lead for his eighth save Monday against the Rays.

Scott got two groundouts to go along with one strikeout. Edwin Díaz appears to be on track to return from elbow surgery next month, but until then, Scott will be well worth using in all formats.

Nick Martinez

TB Starting Pitcher #28

Nick Martinez surrendered three runs in 5 1/3 innings and struck out six versus the Dodgers on Monday.

All of the runs scored on a double, a single and a Kyle Tucker homer to start the third. Martinez’s peripherals have gotten worse of late, but he’s still sitting on a 2.60 ERA through 14 starts. He’ll likely face the Nationals at home on Sunday.

Miguel Rojas

LAD Shortstop #72

Miguel Rojas hit a go-ahead homer as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Rays.

Rojas made it a 4-3 game in the seventh in his first action since leaving Saturday’s game with a minor shin injury. He later indicated that he could have stayed in that contest, but he thought Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s chances of completing a perfect game would have been better with Santiago Espinal replacing him.
