It’s a challenging spot for Morris right out of the gate as he’ll face the Astros at hitter-friendly Daikin Park. The unheralded 23-year-old was called up earlier this week after posting a respectable 4.45 ERA and 49/26 K/BB ratio across 60 2/3 innings over 11 starts for Triple-A Las Vegas this season. He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy managers but he’s another name to watch closely since he appears to have a spot in the club’s rotation for now.

Mets interim manager Andy Green said Polanco would be “in a baseball progression” at the beginning of the spring. Polanco, who was signed to a two-year, $40 million deal last winter, will probably get another chance at first base next year once healthy, but the Mets will likely want to keep Jared Young around as protection.

He takes Blaze Jordan’s spot on the roster. It would seem to make sense for the Cardinals to give Saggese more of a look than Nolan Gorman down the stretch, but we’re guessing if they wanted to do that, Saggese would have already been in the big leagues and not needed an injury to be recalled. Saggese is hitting .258/.340/.446 for Memphis this year with 10 homers and nine stolen bases in 249 plate appearances.

Tough break for the 23-year-old, as he’s losing big-league opportunities down the stretch here with the Cardinals. Jordan was unable to put weight on the ankle after being hurt and this will likely be more than a 10-day injury.

He missed two games in a row with the elbow injury earlier this week. His return forces Mickey Gasper to DH. Rutschman will try to help the Red Sox make up some ground on the Yankees against RHP Cam Schlittler.

The 25-year-old left-hander came over in a deadline trade for INF Josh Smith and had five appearances with a 5.63 ERA with Round Rock. He holds a 4.91 ERA in 22 innings in the bigs earlier this year with the Blue Jays.

It’s a bit surprising to see Kirk rested in two of the last six games. Especially when he’s hitting .338/.415/.513 this month. Brandon Valenzuela will don the tools of ignorance against RHP Emerson Hancock.

Since August 13, Roden had only appeared in four of Minnesota’s 12 games. The 26-year-old hit .254/.333/.313 in 79 plate appearances this year. He’ll try to get back on track at Triple-A.

Go gave up four runs over four appearances with the Twins in July and was DFA’ed to make room for Walker Jenkins. The 28-year-old right-hander had a 3.91 ERA between Toledo and St. Paul’s Triple-A squads this year — 12.54 is the ERA in Toledo that likely led to him being placed on waivers.

Jenkins was hitting .308/.407/.532 with 12 homers and 17 stolen bases over 307 plate appearances with the Saints and should be rostered in most leagues. The Twins didn’t call the 21-year-old top prospect up for him to sit and Luke Keaschall may be at the most risk of losing playing time if Byron Buxton avoids the injured list.

Van Eyk has a 4.76 ERA in three appearances with the Jays and a 3.79 ERA in 95 innings with Buffalo this year, starting 15 games in 21 appearances. He’ll be a multi-inning arm for the Jays.
