Aaron Nola departed after allowing three runs in 4 2/3 innings Saturday against the Brewers.
The Phillies busted out with five runs in the top of the sixth, so Nola presumably would have gotten a win if he had completed five tonight. The Brewers, though, pulled him after a homer with one out and a single with two outs in the fifth. It was Nola’s second straight outing in which he was pulled in the fifth inning of an eventual Phillies win. The Phillies have managed to go 8-6 in his starts, but he’s just 3-4 with a 5.86 ERA. He’ll face the Mets next.

Jake McCarthy went 3-for-5 in the Rockies’ 5-2 defeat of the Cubs on Tuesday.
McCarthy has managed to hit .290/.332/.448 for the Rockies, with Coors Field playing a big role; he has an .877 OPS at home and a .696 OPS on the road. The Rockies shouldn’t wait until the trade deadline to move him if anyone is willing to offer up a decent prospect, but it remains to be seen how aggressive they’ll be there. They already probably missed out on the high point of Antonio Senzatela’s trade value.
Gomez becoming trustworthy closer for Twins
Eric Samulski discusses Twins closer Yoendrys Gomez's recent performances on the mound, in which he's had two saves in his last three appearances and is turning out to be a reliable option in Minnesota's bullpen.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #18
Ryan Feltner yielded two runs in 4 2/3 innings and fanned seven versus the Cubs on Tuesday.
Feltner was pulled one out shy of qualifying for a win in a 5-2 game, a move that’ll probably save the Rockies somewhere in the neighborhood of $100,000 when it comes to determining his salary in arbitration over the winter. Feltner is 2-2 with a 5.05 ERA through nine starts, making him something close to a league-average pitcher as a Coors Field starter. He’ll likely face the Red Sox in Denver next week.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #0
Jaden Hill picked up his first major league save by throwing a perfect ninth with a three-run lead against the Cubs on Tuesday.
Hill’s first save came in his 30th appearance of 2026 and 67th appearance since debuting with the Rockies in 2024. The 26-year-old has a 4.97 ERA and a 27/17 K/BB in 25 1/3 innings this year. He’s the seventh Rockies reliever to pick up a save this year. Victor Vodnik still leads the team with four.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman #2
Nico Hoerner went 0-for-4 in his fourth straight hitless game Tuesday against the Rockies.
As much of a disaster as Dansby Swanson has been offensively, Hoerner has been just as bad for about eight weeks now. In 46 games since Apr. 22, he’s hit .202/.283/.246 with 11 runs scored and 11 RBI in 205 plate appearances. He’s actually struck out only nine times during the entire stretch, but just putting the ball in play doesn’t necessarily mean good things are going to happen (sorry, baseball commentators). Statcast thinks Hoerner has been pretty unlucky, but his EV numbers are all worse than usual and defenses are taking away some of his singles because they’re just not too worried about him hitting the ball over the heads of outfielders. He’s going to have to swing with a little more authority if he wants to keep defenses honest.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo homer to power the Dodgers to a 1-0 win over the Rays on Tuesday.
Baserunners, let alone runs, were at a premium in Tuesday’s pitcher’s duel between the Dodgers and Rays. Ohtani came through for Los Angeles in the sixth inning with a solo homer off Drew Rasmussen. That would prove to be the winning run in the 1-0 affair. The 31-year-old star is up to 15 homers, 51 runs, and 42 RBI while slashing .297/.419/.547 across 317 plate appearances.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #66
Tanner Scott struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning to convert the save against the Rays on Tuesday.
Scott got the call to work the ninth inning with a one-run lead over the Rays. He made quick work, striking out two batters in a perfect frame on just 11 pitches. The 31-year-old left-hander picks up his ninth save of the season to go with a 2.32 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and a 38/3 K/BB ratio across 31 innings.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #70
Justin Wrobleski tossed six shutout innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.
Wrobleski was outstanding on Tuesday, keeping the Rays off the board over six frames. He allowed just three hits and did not walk a batter, tossing an efficient 50-of-67 pitches for strikes and collecting five strikeouts. The 25-year-old left-hander will take a 2.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and a 50/16 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in Minnesota next Tuesday.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #57
Drew Rasmussen allowed one run with seven strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Rasmussen was excellent despite falling in line for the loss on Tuesday with no run support. He held the Dodgers to just one run in Los Angeles, scattering six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. The one run came on a solo homer by Shohei Ohtani in the sixth inning. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 2.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and an 84/13 K/BB ratio across 80 innings into a start against the Royals in Tampa Bay on Monday.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Mike Trout went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI to power the Angels to a 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Trout extended the Angels’ lead in the fifth inning with a two-run homer off Merrill Kelly. He then doubled in the sixth to plate one more run. That’s back-to-back games with a home run for Trout and his 17th of the season while hitting .233/.393/.473 with 54 runs scored, 36 RBI, and seven steals across 331 plate appearances.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Neto took Merrill Kelly deep for a solo homer in the third inning, then totaled seven bases on the day with a leadoff triple in the fifth before scoring on a home run by Mike Trout. The 25-year-old shortstop is hitting .223/.325/.436 with 14 homers, 50 runs scored, 33 RBI, and 11 steals across 326 plate appearances.
