Although he hasn’t had any setbacks, it appears that the timeline has been moved back to early July. With the All-Star break looming around then, you have to wonder if the team would use the time and simply bring Henderson back after the break. It’s hard to hold him that long unless you have a few IL spots.

The 35-year-old has been working his way back from knee surgery that he underwent back in early May. It’s starting to feel like he’ll need at least one minor league rehab start before rejoining Chicago’s rotation.

Basso surrendered four runs over 1 2/3 innings during Sunday’s lopsided defeat at the hands of the Rockies in Las Vegas. The 28-year-old has posted an abysmal 12.46 ERA across 4 1/3 innings at the highest level this season.

Mecker made a precautionary exit from Sunday’s game against the Rays following an awkward collision with the left-field wall. The 26-year-old appears to have avoided serious injury and is back in there without missing any time.
