Wild Season for Giannis

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports

Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s numbers so far are mostly spectacular. He’s averaging career-highs in points (30.3), rebounds (14.0), assists (6.2) and 3s (1.4), while also churning out 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks a game.

That’s everything you hoped for if you took him in the top five of your drafts. But here’s the caveat: Antetokounmpo is also posting career-worst numbers in turnovers (4.8), and shooting just 61.2 percent from the line on 11.3 attempts a game (down from 72.9 percent on 9.5 attempts last season).

Add it all up, and you still have a phenomenal fantasy player — he’s currently 13th on Basketball Monster’s 9-category leaderboard. However, you also have a dilemma on your hands: Can your squad absorb the hit in FT percentage and/or turnovers?

On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Fantasy Basketball Podcast, Tommy Beer, Mike Gallagher and Steve Alexander join me to hit a wide range of fantasy topics, including the good news/bad news situation for Giannis, concerns over Kawhi Leonard and the continued rise of Luka Doncic.
