“We continue to progress well there,” said Red Sox manager Chad Tracy. Crochet has been sidelined with shoulder fatigue and inflammation since April 29th, but there is no structural damage in his shoulder. The Red Sox will need to see the left-hander throw multiple times off a mound before he moves to facing hitters. He would then need at least one rehab start before rejoining the Red Sox, but he could return by the early part of June if all goes well.
  • BOS Left Fielder #19
Anthony injured the top of his hand on a swing against the Tigers last Monday and was placed on the 10-day IL on Thursday. The Red Sox had hoped he would return when first eligible, but that will not be the case. The 22-year-old still hasn’t swung a bat as the Red Sox work on the strength in his hand. “Eventually, we’ll get to strong gripping,” said Tracy. “That’s the biggest thing for him: when do we get to feel like the grip strength is there? When we’re in there, we’re in a better spot.” It does feel like his recovery could speed up considerably once his hand is strong enough to grip a bat again. We just don’t know how long that first step is going to take.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #52
Melton has been sidelined since spring training with a right elbow strain, but has already made two rehab starts and looked good. The right-hander was put on the 60-day IL back on March 25th, so he can’t be activated until the end of this month. If he looks good in Triple-A on Wednesday, then he would likely make one more rehab start and then could return to a Tigers’ rotation that currently only has four starting pitchers with Tarik Skubal (elbow), Casey Mize (groin), and Justin Verlander (hip) all sidelined.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #12
Houser pitched well for the second straight outing, holding the Dodgers to two runs into the sixth inning. Los Angeles brought a run in on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, followed by a solo homer by Shohei Ohtani in the third. Houser would depart with a runner on and two outs in the sixth at 91 pitches. He struck out four. The 33-year-old right-hander earns his first win and will take a 5.79 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 23/14 K/BB ratio into a start against the Athletics in Sacramento on Sunday.
  • STL Shortstop #26
Wetherholt drew a walk and scored a run in the first inning, then later took Joel Kuhnel deep for a two-run blast in the sixth to extend the Cardinals’ lead. He added a base hit in the eighth to reach for a third time. The 23-year-old second baseman is hitting .242/.356/.427 with eight homers, 32 runs scored, 22 RBI, and five steals across 188 plate appearances.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #17
He fanned seven. Ober threw just 89 pitches, matching Sonny Gray for the lowest total in a shutout since 2022. 89 was also how hard he threw his fastball tonight, or 88.6 mph to be exact. He gave up four hard-hit balls the 34 times he threw that pitch but just one on his other 55 offerings. Ober is now 4-2 with a 3.46 ERA despite his velocity being down 1.6 mph from last year. He also lost 1.5 mph from 2024 to 2025, and his ERA ballooned to 5.10 that season. Given that he’s a flyball pitcher with a modest 18.6 percent strikeout rate, it remains very difficult to recommend him in mixed leagues. This is really impressive what he’s doing, though. He’ll take on the Brewers on Sunday.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #22
Woo gave up a run in the second inning on two hits. The Astros would plate a second run on two walks and a hit in the third. He settled in for three more scoreless innings, ending his day after six at 104 pitches. Woo threw 74 for strikes and generated 14 whiffs to strike out nine batters. That’s back-to-back nine-strikeout efforts. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 3.91 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and a 47/10 K/BB ratio across 53 innings into a start against the White Sox in Seattle on Monday.
  • TEX Right Fielder #24
Schumaker added that Nimmo is dealing with a sprained ankle but didn’t suffer any fractures. It sounds like there’s a chance he avoids the injured list, but the Rangers are probably going to give him a couple days off to rest and recover. The 33-year-old veteran outfielder was 3-for-4 with a run scored before spraining his ankle on a close play at first base during the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game against Arizona. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s showdown.
  • NYM Center Fielder
Ewing is looking at everyday at-bats with the Mets dealing with injuries in the outfield. He made a good impression on Tuesday as he was on base four times in the win over the Tigers. In the seventh inning, he had a moment he’ll never forget when he roped a line drive to right field for a triple for his first MLB hit. It traveled at 104 mph exit velocity. Ewing had only two home runs in the minor leagues, but can still provide value with a good average and speed.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #1
Gore put together his best start of the season on Tuesday, dominating the Diamondbacks over a career-high eight innings. He scattered three hits and one walk, giving up one run on a solo homer by Ildemaro Vargas in the second inning. He tossed 63 of 95 pitches for strikes, striking out five batters on eight whiffs. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 53/22 K/BB ratio across 48 innings into a start against the Rockies in Colorado on Monday.
