The Giants sent just 28 men to the plate today. Luis Arraez singled in the fourth and then was erased on a double play. There was also a double play in the second after a Hyeseong Kim error allowed Heliot Ramos to reach. The only runner left on base by the Giants was Arraez after a first-inning walk. It’s just the fourth time ever that Glasnow, who has never thrown a complete game, has finished eight innings; he did so twice in 2021 with the Rays and once with the Dodgers in 2024. He’s now 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA and a 38/7 K/BB through 34 innings, and he’ll face the Marlins next week.

Scott went without a strikeout, but none of the three balls in play against him proved difficult. The outing lowers his ERA to 0.84. The Dodgers aren’t naming a closer with Edwin Díaz out, but Scott seems like the best bet in their pen at the moment.

Kremer must have suffered hte injury during Saturday’s loss to the Guardians. The severity of the injury — and how much time he may miss — are not yet known. Brandon Young was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and will start in Kremer’s place on Friday against the Red Sox.

Swanson has mostly been hitting in the lower third of the Cubs order, and we say mostly about “hitting” as the walkoff upped his seasonal line to just .193/.333/.386. At least the power is still there, but Swanson’s got just one stolen base. He’s more of a quality third middle infielder in deeper leagues than a starting fantasy shortstop at this point.

He kept them in it. Marsh’s homers were both solo shots, and he also walked and knocked in another run with a single. Our eternally wet man has now hit safely in three straight and has upped his line to .300/.329/.500 in 79 at-bats. He’s certainly elbowing his way into consideration in shallow mixed leagues, though the Phillies probably platoon him too strictly for him to have major fantasy value. He showed why they do that by striking out in a key spot against Riley Martin in the ninth.

The 25-year-old hurler has been dominant through his first four starts at Triple-A Rochester this season, posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 27/8 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings. He’s set to make his MLB debut on Friday against the White Sox in Chicago. Miles Mikolas had been scheduled to start on Friday, it’s unclear if he’s being pushed back or is being shifted to a long relief role. Cornelio makes for a strong streaming option in deeper mixed leagues for Friday’s debut.

It’s unclear when exactly the injury occurred. Castro had just missed three games at the end of last week due to a hand injury that he suffered when he was hit by a pitch. It sounds like it should be another day-to-day situation, but the Rockies should have an update on his status after the conclusion of Thursday’s ballgame.

Torkelson got it out to left field past the bullpen in Comerica, salvaging what to that point had been an 0-for-3 day. The first baseman was hitting seventh and has upped his line to a putrid .192/.330/.308 with his second homer of the season. This isn’t the first slow start for Torkelson -- he’s a career .212/.313/.360 hitter in April/March games. He’s only a fringe fantasy option at the moment, especially hitting as low as he is in the lineup. Perhaps this big hit will spark him.

Albies roped a double into the right field corner after a wild pitch staked the Braves to a 3-2 lead to make it 5-2, then tacked on a solo shot in the ninth inning to conclude the game’s scoring. Now hitting .297/.342/.475 in what can only be called a bounceback season to this point, Albies has five homers in his first 101 plate appearances. If you drafted him as a low-end starter in a shallow league, you’re feeling pretty good about how things have gone so far.

He walked away with a win in his first start. Ritchie allowed solo shots to James Wood and C.J. Abrams and little else, though he was bailed out in the second inning by Daylen Lile being caught stealing after Drake Baldwin threw to second with runners on the corners and Lile drifted too far off third base. Ritchie averaged 94.7 mph with his fastball, but wound up leading with his curveball against a lefty-heavy Nationals lineup and generated a 27 percent whiff rate overall with a trio of secondaries. This start probably isn’t worth throwing out a huge chunk of the FAAB for, but Ritchie could get some runway in this rotation if the Braves start to believe in him. He’d look to be in line to start against the Tigers next week.
