TOP PICKS

Aaron Rodgers - QB - Green Bay (DK: $17,100 / FD: $16,000 / Yahoo: $34)

We should probably throw Week 1 out of the window for Green Bay. That was a weird road game with an uncharacteristic flow. The Packers should be able to dominate the pace, time of possession, and ultimately the scoreboard against a rebuilding Detroit franchise. Look for Rodgers to get back on track, especially with motivation pushing him forward while trying to avenge last week’s embarrassing loss. This could be a statement game from Rodgers and company.

Aaron Jones - RB - Green Bay (DK: $10,400 / FD: $12,500 / Yahoo: $31)

Game flow suggests that we’ll see plenty of Aaron Jones in this one, and I’m not disagreeing with that. The Lions got run over by San Francisco backup RB Elijah Mitchell to the tune of 19-104-1 last week. Jones is a much better runner, and he should see ample opportunities to get things going tonight. I don’t mind pairing Jones with Rodgers, as he has receiving upside as well.

BEST BARGAINS

Trinity Benson - WR - Detroit (DK: $1,000 / FD: $6,000 / Yahoo: $10)

Tyrell Williams has been ruled out for Detroit. That means Benson will step into a heightened role. Benson finished third in snaps among the Lions’ receivers last week, catching three of six targets for 19 yards. Game flow suggests that Detroit will be throwing the ball plenty in this one, so Benson should have plenty of chances to impact the box score. I don’t mind him as a bargain filler.

Qunitez Cephus - WR - Detroit (DK: $3,800 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $11)

Cephus is a little more expensive on DraftKings and FanDuel, but he appears to be WR1 for the Lions at the moment, especially with Williams out. Who knows if that will stick, as none of these Detroit receivers are proven. Cephus caught three-of-seven targets for 12 yards and a score in Week 1. While we don’t love that average, Cephus is the most athletic WR for Detroit, and he will have plenty of chances to show that off while returning to Wisconsin - where he played college ball.

TOURNAMENT LOOKS

AJ Dillon - RB - Green Bay (DK: $3,000 / FD: $7,000 / Yahoo: $15)

If the Packers take control of this game, then we could see plenty of AJ Dillon while trying to preserve a lead in the second half. Dillon had four carries for 19 yards with two targets in the passing game last week. However, we could get a real look at the second-year RB (and his role) in a game that appears to be made for him.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Jared Goff (QB - DET) is on the fantasy board, although he’s more of a tournament option than anything. It will be an uphill climb for the Detroit passing game, but Goff could find fantasy relevance through volume alone … TJ Hockenson (TE - DET) is expensive, but he could run into fantasy production, especially in garbage time ... Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR - DET) is a tournament receiver who carries similar rationale as Cephus and Benson.

Davante Adams (WR - GB) is looking for a big game. If Rodgers is on point, then it’s likely that Adams will follow with solid numbers. It’s possible to stack Rodgers, Adams, and Jones in the same lineup while sprinkling the cheap Detroit WRs to round out a lineup.

Randall Cobb (WR - GB) didn’t see many targets in Week 1. That will probably change tonight, so don’t count him out as a tournament stacking extension of Rodgers … Robert Tonyan (TE - GB) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR - GB) fall into that rationale as well.
D’Andre Swift (RB - DET) and Jamaal Williams (RB - DET) both looked great in the passing game last week, but it’s hard to imagine that either will replicate that production. Swift is listed as questionable, although he practiced on Saturday and is expected to play.
