Miami freshman DE Jahfari Harvey “continues to impress,” according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
“Jahfari Harvey is a very athletic kid, great get off, great burst, has good instincts,” Miami HC Manny Diaz said of the four-star freshman after Monday’s practice. “He can bend. We’ve got some defensive ends that are a problem and he’s one of them.” Miami doesn’t lack for depth in its defensive front, with Jon Garvin and Scott Patchan expected to be the starters at the end positions. Harvey (6'4/240) may not be in position to start, but he will have the opportunity to contribute as the Hurricanes look to begin the Diaz era with a flourish. Miami isn’t a week into its fall camp, but the freshman has managed to make a positive impression on his coaches.
