Michigan sophomore WR Cornelius Johnson earned five receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 48-42 win over Rutgers.
As Michigan were trying to close out the game in regulation, it was Johnson who stepped up to score a nine-yarder that could, maybe should, have put the game away. His touchdown grab gave the Wolverines a 35-27 lead with only a handful of minutes left to spare. Rutgers ended up scoring and forcing the game to overtime, where Johnson (6'3/195) did not score, but there is still plenty of value on Johnson having forced Rutgers to pull off a miracle in regulation to make this one close. Johnson has also increased his receiving production in all three games this year, both in terms of yardage and scoring.
