Texas Tech junior RB SaRodorick Thompson 14 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in Texas Tech’s 34-7 win over Mississippi State.

Thompson (6'0"/215) and fellow RB Tahj Brooks helped Texas Tech control the game, continually chunking an overmatched Bulldogs defense again and again. Thompson isn’t a yardage monster, but what he does is score the football and he came through again, punching it in from 1-yard away. He’s up to 33 touchdowns in his Texas Tech career, and should easily enter the top-3 in Red Raider history next season.

Cooper Kupp caught 4-of-5 targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ Week 3 loss to the Commanders.

Kupp took advantage of the Commanders double-teaming Jaxon Smith-Njigba and walked into the end zone on the fourth touchdown throw from Sam Darnold. It’s his first score of the season, and it’s a season high in receiving yards for the former star. Kupp will try and build on this in Week 4 in a matchup against the Chargers.

Fantasy implications of latest Nacua injury update
Puka Nacua did not practice on Thursday heading into Week 3, and Sean McVay's latest statement is not promising for his return. Kyle Dvorchak explains what that means for Davante Adams and Terrance Ferguson in fantasy.

David Montgomery rushed 11 times for 33 yards in Houston’s Week 3 loss to the Colts, adding two catches for 15 yards on his only two targets.

The only official goal-line carry of the game went to Woody Marks in the two-minute drill. Montgomery added one of the dumbest-looking running back passes on first-and-goal in recent memory, though that play was bailed out as something like five different Colts committed DPI on Jaylin Noel in the end zone. Montgomery’s best play of the game was a minus-1 yard carry in his own end zone where he pulled out the entire stop/start arsenal. It’s beginning to give RB3 vibes as we look ahead to Week 4’s game against the Cowboys.

Keon Coleman caught 1-of-2 targets for 37 yards in the Bills’ Week 3 win over the Chargers.

Coleman was questionable to play with an ankle injury, but he was out there for 18 of the team’s 33 snaps, which was the third-most among wide receivers. His lone catch was a busted coverage down the sideline where a better throw from Josh Allen could have led to a touchdown. Coleman is playing better football this season, but he remains just an end-of-bench flyer if either DJ Moore or Khalil Shakir were to suffer an injury.

Bhayshul Tuten had 15 rushes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ Week 3 win against the Patriots, adding two catches for 17 yards.

Tuten has taken control of the Jaguars backfield over the past couple weeks. Against the Patriots he out-carried Chris Rodriguez 15 to eight, with much of Rodriguez’s opportunity coming after the game had been decided. Tuten split pass-catching duties with LeQuint Allen, who also had two grabs on the day. Tuten probably won’t be a 20-touch back most weeks, but he should be a solid RB2 option going forward, including in Week 4 against the Bengals.

AJ Barner caught 5-of-9 targets for 69 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 3 loss to the Commanders.

It was easily Barner’s best receiving day of the year, although he was unable to find the end zone. His nine targets were second on the team behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s 14, and it’s clear he and Sam Darnold have more of a connection than he did with Drew Lock. Barner will be on the TE1 precipice for Week 4 against the Chargers, but this was encouraging.

Khalil Shakir caught 1-of-3 targets for six yards in the Bills’ Week 3 win over the Chargers.

The Bills’ offense was totally out of sorts in this game, and Shakir was hurt by their inability to get anything going through the air. Still, he played on 45 of their 62 snaps and ran a route on 23 of their 33 dropbacks, the second-most of any wide receiver. He’ll be in for a better game against the Patriots next week, but he remains just a desperation FLEX play right now unless the Bills are headed for a shootout.

C.J. Stroud completed 16-of-27 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s 19-17, Week 3 loss to the Colts.

It was turnover-free football despite three sacks. Simply put: The Texans just don’t look like an NFL offense right now. Two of Stroud’s three deep balls in this game could have been intended for any of four different receivers, one of them hit off Jaylin Noel’s hands. Nobody has taken the reins. Texans OC Nick Caley deserves to be on the hot seat. Stroud passes the eye test when you watch these games, but the design of this offense — especially the run offense — is brutal. Stroud is near the bottom of the superflex QB2 ranks against the Cowboys next week, though the potential return of Nico Collins merits some consideration that better things could happen.

Patrick Mahomes completed 20-of-24 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Chiefs’ 24-10, Week 3 win over the Dolphins.

With the Dolphins playing ball-control offense, the Chiefs were limited to just 49 total plays, but Mahomes and company compensated with extreme efficiency. That included long catch-and-run gains to Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, with Mahomes finding the former for an end zone score. Mahomes has now posted multiple passing scores in each of his first three starts. It took him seven games to accomplish that feat last year. There was a scary moment when Mahomes got “body weighted” by DL Chop Robinson, but Mahomes shook it off as Robinson was flagged for roughing. Currently averaging 8.3 yards per attempt after that number was 7.1 a year ago, Mahomes is looking at home in this “new look” Chiefs attack once again coordinated by Eric Bieniemy. He has another soft Week 4 matchup in the Raiders before the Chiefs head on early-season bye.

Rachaad White rushed 8 times for 35 yards and caught a six-yard touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 3 win over the Seahawks.

White, 27, left near the end of the second quarter with a shoulder issue, but he was able to return. He was more effective than Jacory Croskey-Merritt, but considering Croskey-Merritt averaged 1.9 yards per carry, that’s not saying a lot. White has looked like the better tailback thus far, but this Commanders’ offense is one to just stay away from right now. White will be back in action in London in Week 4 against the Colts.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed 19 times for 36 yards in the Commanders’ Week 3 win over the Seahawks.

Croskey-Merritt had a long touchdown run wiped off the board because of an illegal formation. Outside of that, it was a struggle for the 25-year-old and the stout Seattle run defense with a long gain (that counted) of just nine. Croskey-Merritt has not found much room to run thus far, and it’s hard to trust him right now. His next chance to find said room comes in Week 4 against the Colts in London.
