  • PIT Tight End #80
Steelers TE Darnell Washington (knee) was removed from the Week 3 injury report.
Washington didn’t practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday before getting in a full practice and being removed from the injury report. The rookie tight end has played 43% of offensive snaps through the first two weeks.
  • IND Wide Receiver #1
Colts declared WR Josh Downs, QB Sam Ehlinbger, DB Julian Blackmon, OL Tanor Bortolini, OT Blake Freeland, TE Will Mallory, and DL Genard Avery inactive for Week 2 against the Packers.
Downs was considered 50-50 to suit up in Week 2, a month after sustaining a high ankle sprain in practice. Downs would seem likely to make his 2024 debut in Week 3. Adonai Mitchell and Alec Pierce will split WR2 duties behind Michael Pittman until then. Mitchell was close to two long gains in Week 1, which Pierce cashed in on his two downfield opportunities.
  • NYJ Cornerback #4
Jets declared CB D.J. Reed, OT Carter Warren, RB Israel Abanikanda, DE Eric Watts, DT Leonard Taylor II, and OL Max Mitchell inactive for Week 2 against the Titans.
Reed was questionable with a knee injury and apparently was not healthy enough to give it a go. That’s a slight hit for the Jets secondary, but they’re still in good shape against Will Levis and the Titans passing attack.
  • NO Defensive Back #23
Saints CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) is inactive for Week 2 against the Cowboys.
Lattimore did not practice all week due to a hamstring injury and is now officially out against Dallas. Rookie Kool-Aid McKinstry may see a bigger role with the Saints being cautious with Lattimore. Also inactive for the Saints are WR A.T. Perry, QB Spencer Rattler, DT Khalen Saunders, LB D’Marco Jackson, LB Jaylan Ford, and TE Dallin Holker. Rattler will be the team’s emergency third quarterback.
  • CAR Running Back #34
Panthers declared RB Mike Boone, CB Chau Smith-Wade, CB Shemar Bartholomew, C Andrew Raym, OG Jarrett Kingston and TE Messiah Swinson inactive for Week 2 against the Chargers.
It’s a quiet list for the league’s worst team.
  • MIN Wide Receiver #3
Vikings declared Jordan Addison, Fabian Moreau, Dwight McGlothern, Levi Drake, Rodriguez Jalen, and Redmond Walter Rouse inactive for Week 2 against the 49ers.
Addison, who was injured on a hip drop tackle in Week 1, was declared out on Friday after missing practice all week. He could miss more time with the injury. For now, Jalen Nailor should run as the Vikings’ No. 2 wideout behind Justin Jefferson.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #80
Commanders declared WR Jamison Crowder, CB Emmanuel Forbes, DE Jamin Davis, G Chris Paul, ILB Dominique Hampton, S Darrick Forrest, and QB Sam Hartman inactive for Week 2 against the Giants.
Crowder signed a one-year deal with Washington in the offseason but is currently buried on the depth chart. Luke McCaffrey will continue to get the bulk of the slot reps for Washington.
  • DET Wide Receiver #9
Jameson Williams (ankle) is active for Week 2’s matchup against the Buccaneers.
Jamo, OT Penei Sewell and S Kerby Joseph are all active for Detroit after being listed as questionable heading into Week 2. Williams had to have his ankle taped during Week 1’s game against the Rams and still finished with five receptions, 121 yards and a touchdown. Williams had two receptions, 53 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers during the 2023 regular season. He figures to be an upside WR2 in this matchup against Tampa Bay.
  • SF Quarterback #5
49ers declared QB Josh Dobbs, S Talanoa Hufanga, CB Darrell Luter ,LB Dee Winters, and OL Ben Bartch inactive for Week 2 against the Vikings.
Besides Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) landing on injured reserve this week, the Niners go into Week 2 as one of the league’s healthiest teams. Brandon Allen will continue to back up Brock Purdy in Week 2.
  • DET Defensive End #92
Lions declared DL Marcus Davenport, S Ifeatu Melifonwu, WR Isaiah Williams, CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr., LV Trevor Nowaske, T Giovani Manu, and OL Colby Sorsdal inactive for Week 2 against the Buccaneers.
The Lions will miss Davenport’s ability to rush the passer off the edge. The free agent acquisition played in only four games with the Vikings last year. Otherwise, the Lions are fairly healthy heading into Week 2. Detroit’s second round pick Ennis Rakestraw is a surprise healthy scratch.
  • NYG Quarterback #15
Giants declared QB Tommy DeVito, CB Nick McCloud, LB Darius Muasau, S Anthony Johnson Jr., OL Jake Kubas, and OLB Boogie Basham inactive for Week 2 against the Commanders.
DeVito is designated as the third quarterback, so he would be eligible to enter the game if Daniel Jones and backup Drew Lock get hurt. Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton are both good to go after briefly appearing on the injury report earlier this week.
