ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports Colts owner Jim Irsay is being treated for a “severe respiratory illness.”
He will not perform with his band this week in Los Angeles. Irsay, 64, has reportedly not been seen “for weeks” and the team has received questions about his whereabouts. The Colts missed the postseason after losing their Week 18 home game to the Texans.

Jaguars re-signed CB Montaric Brown to a three-year, $33 million contract.
A former seventh-round pick from the 2022 draft class, Brown has started 22 games over the last two seasons while totaling three interceptions and 30 pass breakups over that span. The soon-to-be 27-year-old allowed just 34 receptions for 360 yards and three touchdowns on 63 targets last season while playing on 736 snaps, and earned a career-high 75.5 PFF coverage grade. Brown’s new deal will give the Jaguars a strong corner on the outside for the foreseeable future and keeps him under contract through the 2028 season.
TE Smith can regain fantasy value with right team
No longer part of an "ugly" fantasy situation with the Steelers, Denny Carter lays out why tight end Jonnu Smith could regain his fantasy "viability" with the right offense in 2026.
  • FA Quarterback #6
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Bengals will not tender restricted free agent QB Jake Browning.
Browning split his first five years in the NFL between the Vikings and Bengals’ practice squads. He finally won the backup job in Cincy in 2023 and went on to throw for 1,936 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while making seven starts in place of an injured Joe Burrow. He signed a two-year deal with the Bengals after the season. Browning took over as the starter in 2025 after Burrow went down with a foot injury. Things did not go as smoothly this time around and he was eventually benched for Joe Flacco, whom the Bengals had to acquire via trade. Though the Bengals threw in the towel on Browning, another team will see his 2023 tape and give him a shot to win their QB2 job in camp.
  • NYG Tight End #85
Giants re-signed TE Chris Manhertz to a one-year contract.
Manhertz has appeared in all 34 regular-season games for the Giants over the past two seasons. He only has four catches for 37 yards and a touchdown as a Giant, but Manhertz gets paid to block and play special teams. He will continue to do so under John Harbaugh in 2026.
  • FA Quarterback #1
    Dolphins released QB Tua Tagovailoa.
Tagovailoa has two years left on the four-year, $212.4 million contract he signed in 2024. Now, the Dolphins will be on the hook for $54 million in guaranteed money this season, meaning Tua will sign for a league minimum wherever he lands next. Tagovailoa appeared to be stepping into his full potential early in the Mike McDaniel era, throwing for 3,548-25-8 in his first season with McDaniel, which also included a prime Tyreek Hill. A lack of playoff success coupled with defenses figuring out ways to limit Tua resulted in a down 2025, which included a career-high 15 interceptions and a career-low 46.4 success rate on pass plays. A down QB market should leave Tagovailoa with plenty of suitors in the days/weeks ahead, but he’ll likely sign somewhere on a short deal with hopes of landing a big contract in 2027.
  • HOU Guard #69
Texans re-signed RG Ed Ingram to a three-year, $37.5M contract.
The Texans acquired Ingram from Minnesota for a sixth-round pick last offseason. Per Pro Football Focus, 2025 was the best year of his career. Ingram posted a career-high 73.8 overall grade, fueled by a massive improvement as a run-blocker. With multiple holes along their offensive line, Houston couldn’t afford to let Ingram hit the open market.
  • MIN Linebacker #55
Vikings re-signed LB Eric Wilson to a three-year, $22.5 million contract.
Wilson’s deal includes $12.5 million fully guaranteed. Wilson played the first four years of his career in Minnesota. He bounced around the league for a year before finding another permanent home in Green Bay. Wilson spent three seasons with the Packers before returning to Minnesota for a career year in 2025. He amassed 6.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in Brian Flores’s blitz-heavy offense. Wilson is also a solid run-defender and even pitches in on special teams.
  • CHI Linebacker #48
    Bears re-signed LB D’Marco Jackson to a two-year, $7.5 million contract.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the deal is worth “up to” $10.5 million. Jackson was drafted by the Saints in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was cut just before the final year of his rookie deal and the Bears claimed him off waivers. Jackson went on to appear in 16 games for Chicago. He totaled 43 combined tackles, one sack, and one interception. Jackson played over 250 snaps on defense and special teams each. He is now under contract through 2027.
  • PIT Cornerback #22
Steelers re-signed CB Asante Samuel Jr. to a one-year, $4 million contract.
Samuel Jr. missed most of the 2024 season after undergoing spinal fusion surgery. He was fully recovered midway through the 2025 season and signed with Pittsburgh. He went on to appear in six games for the Steelers, three of which were credited as starts. In Week 15, Samuel Jr. picked off his first pass since 2023. With a full offseason to prepare, the former second-round corner could take on a full-time starting role in Pittsburgh this year.
  • FA Wide Receiver #14
Josina Anderson reports the market for free agent Alec Pierce “may be too much” for the Patriots, but that the 49ers “might pay it.”
Field-stretcher Pierce would be a strong fit in the Patriots’ offense, but they might believe he’s not enough of an upgrade on their current Kayshon Boutte/Mack Hollins tandem to justify more than $30 million per season. The 49ers, meanwhile, could be tired of waiting for former first-rounder Ricky Pearsall to stay healthy. Pierce is predictably generating wide interest after the Colts surprisingly let him reach the open market, but he is still most likely to end up with a cap-flushed, receiver-desperate team like the Titans.
  • LV Cornerback #7
Raiders acquired Taron Johnson from the Bills in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.
The Bills announced on Friday that they would be releasing Johnson, who joined the team as a fourth-round pick in 2018. With that move not yet official, the team has now decided to trade Johnson to the Bills for a sixth-round pick while also sending a seventh-rounder of their own back to Vegas. Johnson is a former Second-team All-Pro who has played almost exclusively in the slot. The veteran corner earned a PFF coverage grade of 66.8 last season while allowing 34 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns on 51 targets. Johnson joins the Raiders with two years remaining on his deal and should help bolster a defense that ranked 25th in points allowed last season.
