  • FA Wide Receiver #88
    Commanders released WR Martavis Bryant.
The 32-year-old randomly resurfaced to score a preseason touchdown, but it’s no surprise he couldn’t make the Commanders’ 53-man roster after over a half decade away from the league. It’s a good story, but the odds remain extremely long Bryant even lands practice squad work.
  • NE Quarterback #10
Drake Maye completed 4-of-8 passes for 22 yards in the Patriots’ 24-3, Week 3 loss to the Jets, adding two carries for 12 yards.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Aaron Rodgers completed 27-of-35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ 24-3, Week 3 win over the Patriots.
  • NYJ Tackle #78
Jets RT Morgan Moses was forced from New York’s Week 3 game against the Patriots with a left knee injury and will not return.
Moses got rolled up early in the fourth quarter and went down in a heap of pain. He did make his way to the sideline unassisted before a brief stop in the blue tent. He then headed to the locker room and was ruled out a bit later. An MRI is undoubtedly coming. First-round rookie Olu Fashanu is the next man up.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #14
DK Metcalf (hand) returned to full practice Thursday.
The Seahawks have for some reason retained ex-coach Pete Carroll’s practice of non-sensical injury report designations. Metcalf will be in the low-end WR1 mix for Week 3 against the Dolphins.
  • MIA Running Back #23
Jeff Wilson (oblique) returned to full practice Thursday.
Wilson will be active against the Seahawks Sunday. The question now becomes whether Raheem Mostert, who has gotten in back-to-back limited practices, is ready to return from his chest issue. Either way, Wilson didn’t show enough in Week 2 to earn FLEX benefit of the doubt in the event of another Mostert absence.
  • MIA Running Back #31
Raheem Mostert (chest) remained “limited” for Thursday’s practice.
We wouldn’t assume Mostert is returning until he gets in a full session on Friday or is removed from the injury report. He could end up with a genuine “questionable” tag. We do know the Dolphins have incentive to push the envelope with their 1B back, as they are going to have no choice but to run the ball more in Tua Tagovailoa’s absence. Mostert will be a touchdown-based FLEX option if he returns after a one-week absence.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Kenneth Walker (oblique) remained sidelined Thursday.
Walker has yet to take a practice rep of any kind since getting injured late in Week 1. At this point, not even a “limited” Friday return would probably be enough to get him out of the field against the Dolphins. Although inefficient and un-explosive, Zach Charbonnet’s status as an every-snap player in KWIII’s absence keeps him in the low-end RB1 mix.
  • NYJ Linebacker #57
Jets MLB C.J. Mosley (toe) is inactive for Week 3 against the Patriots.
Mosley’s toe issue was too much to overcome on the short week. Joining Mosley on the shelf are OT Max Mitchell, OT Carter Warren, RB Izzy Abanikanda, DE Eric Watts and CB Jarrick-Bernard Converse.
  • NE Center #60
Patriots C David Andrews (hip) is active for Week 3 against the Jets.
The Pats’ pivot was the biggest question mark in a game without many injury concerns. Hopefully this short-week contest doesn’t change that for the Jets and Pats heading into Week 4. Inactive for the Patriots are CB Marco Wilson, QB Joe Milton, DE Jamree Kromah, LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, LT Vederian Lowe and LG Sidy Sow.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #11
Josh Reynolds (achilles) was upgraded to “full” for Thursday’s practice.
Shockingly important to the Broncos’ passing attack thus far, Reynolds is pushing the top 20 in overall receiving yardage. That’s not going to last long, but Reynolds could maybe operate as a desperation WR4 vs. a banged-up Bucs defense.
