  • CAR Cornerback #3
Panthers sign CB Caleb Farley to their practice squad.
The Panthers will take a shot at rehabilitating the tools that made Farley a first-round pick in 2021 while managing the long-term back injury that has plagued him for most of his NFL career. The Panthers have almost nothing in the cupboard at cornerback beyond Jaycee Horn, so it makes sense to take a low-risk stab on a player who is still just 25.
  • NYJ Cornerback #1
Sauce Gardner (concussion evaluation) returned to New York’s Week 5 game against the Vikings.

He missed about a quarter after heading to the blue medical tent and the locker room. The star cornerback is back for the Jets as they try to hold Minnesota’s offense down in the final six minutes of the game.

  • BAL Running Back #26
Ravens RB Rasheen Ali (neck) is active for Week 5 against the Bengals.
Making his NFL debut after coming off injured reserve, fifth-round rookie Ali will try to push Justice Hill for change-of-pace/third-down touches. Inactive for the Ravens are WR Devontez Walker, WR/RS Deonte Harty, OG Andrew Vorhees, C Nick Samac, EDGE Adisa Isaac and S Beau Brade.
  • NYJ Cornerback #1
Jets CB Sauce Gardner (concussion protocol) left Week 5’s game against the Vikings.
He slammed into Quincy Williams on the line of scrimmage, leaving a wide-open Jordan Addison downfield on the play for 26 yards. Gardner seems unlikely to return after spending time in the medical tent. He’ll have an extra day to clear protocol, should he enter it, as the Jets plan to take on the Bills on Monday night next week.
  • NE Wide Receiver #84
Kendrick Bourne is active for Week 5 against the Dolphins.
Bourne, who began the season on the PUP last while recovering from a 2023 ACL injury, will make his season debut against Miami. Bourne and Ja’Lynn Polk should operate as the Patriots’ top two receiving options for now. Patriots declared S Jabrill Peppers, S Kyle Dugger, WR KJ Osborn, QB Joe Milton, DE Jamree Kromah, WR Javon Baker, and TE Jaheim Bell inactive against Miami.
  • CIN Defensive Back #21
Bengals declared CB Mike Hilton, WR Trent Irwin, EDGE Cedric Johnson, TE Tanner McLachlan, TE Tanner Hudson and DT Sheldon Rankins inactive for Week 5 against the Ravens.
Slot man Hilton (knee) was injured in Week 4. He’s a big loss any week, but a little less so vs. the run-focused Ravens.
  • CAR Tackle #68
Panthers RG Robert Hunt (hip) is active for Week 5 against the Bears.
Hunt was limited in practice throughout the week before being listed as questionable. He is currently ranked as a top-10 pass-blocking guard by Pro Football Focus. Inactive for the Panthers are S Russ Yeast, RB Mike Boone, LB Josey Jewell, C Andrew Raym, G Jarrett Kingston, and DE Jayden Peevy.
  • MIA Running Back #31
Raheem Mostert (chest) is active for Week 5 against the Patriots.
Mostert will slot in at Miami’s 1B option behind De’Vone Achane after being sidelined for a few weeks with a chest injury. He doesn’t have much standalone fantasy value in the Tua-less version of the Dolphins offense. Dolphins declared QB Skylar Thompson, S Jordan Poyer, RB Jeff Wilson, Jr., CB Ethan Bonner, LB Channing Tindall, LB Mo Kamara, and OL Andrew Meyer inactive against the Patriots.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #10
Bills declared WR Khalil Shakir, OL Will Clapp, DT Ed Oliver, DT Austin Johnson, LB Edefuan Ulofoshio, CB Taron Johnson, and S Taylor Rapp inactive for Week 5’s game against the Texans.
Sean McDermott said Shakir wouldn’t play on Friday, so this is just “officially official.” Most of these players were declared out on the Friday injury report. Johnson, who was questionable with a forearm injury, could be back next week. Ulofoshio and Clapp are healthy scratches.
  • JAX Tight End #17
Evan Engram (hamstring) is inactive for Week 5 against the Colts.
Engram began the week looking like he might actually play for the first time since getting injured in Week 2 pre-game warmups, but he never progressed past truly questionable. It does seem like he will finally be ready to suit up in Week 6 against the Bears, though hopefully the 30-year-old is still actually progressing instead of plateauing. Joining Engram on the shelf are S Daniel Thomas, LB Yasir Abdullah, DE Myles Cole, OL Javon Foster, OL Cole Van Lanen and DT Jordan Jefferson.
