Ben Johnson told reporters he’s hopeful Luther Burden will practice soon.
Burden continues to miss time with a hamstring injury. After missing offseason workouts with a soft tissue injury, Johnson seemed confident Burden would be ready for the start of training camp. While Burden reportedly suffered an undisclosed injury from landing on a football, it’s a hamstring that is keeping him off the practice field. Johnson, who previously described Burden as day-to-day, is hopeful that he’s available soon. On a Bears offense that’s suddenly loaded with playmakers, it would behoove the rookie Burden to be available sooner rather than later if he’s going to have a role early in the season.
