Miles Sanders rushed five times for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ Week 2 win over the Giants.

He took 17 of 76 snaps and managed a six-yard score in a red zone sequence. There’s nothing here to suggest that Sanders is actually playing well, but he would appear to be a solid use of a deep-league Waiting Room roster spot given how far the inactive Jaydon Blue looks from being on the field and how well Dallas’ offensive line is run blocking so far.

Dallas Goedert (knee) was limited on Thursday.

Goedert’s return cannot come soon enough. DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Hollywood Brown (ankle) remain sidelined, and Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) got hurt in today’s practice. If Goedert can play this week, he will vault right back into the TE1 tier.
'Forge ahead' with Daniels on fantasy lineup
Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter ask and answer - does Jayden Daniels have to be played? The quarterback returns after three weeks out with injury, and stakes are high.

Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) was added to the injury report on Thursday.

Wicks was listed as a limited participant today, indicating that he strained his hamstring during Thursday’s practice. With DeVonta Smith (hamstring) still sidelined, rookie WR Makai Lemon could be the de facto top receiver, though the team has struggled to use him effectively thus far. Hollywood Brown (ankle) also remains sidelined.

DeVonta Smith (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday.

Smith is on the wrong side of questionable for the Eagles’ Week 5 game against the Jaguars, and at this point, we expect him to be ruled out tomorrow. Dallas Goedert (knee) is practicing and could end up operating as the team’s top pass catcher.

Carnell Tate (back) was added to the injury report on Thursday.

Tate was limited today, suggesting he suffered a back injury in practice. That is not good. He, of course, still has a chance to play, but we will have to monitor this situation closely. For now, Tate must be viewed as questionable to play in Week 5 against the Texans.

    Commanders waived RB Kaytron Allen.

The Commanders have been bringing more running backs aboard as active roster injuries mount. Contributing on passing downs and on special teams is critical for fringe players, so Allen appears to be the odd man out. The front office could end up regretting this decision. Allen will certainly land on an NFL roster, and may not end up making it through waivers unclaimed.

Bengals WR Colbie Young (knee) practiced in full on Thursday.

Young is on track to face the Dolphins in Week 5. His return comes at the right time. Ja’Marr Chase is in the NFL’s concussion protocol and Tee Higgins (adductor/neck) is sidelined.

Chris Olave (foot) was added to the injury report on Thursday.

It is tough to say when exactly the injury happened. This is bizarre. Olave took a hard hit to the lower body late in Week 4 and subbed himself out for the team’s final possession. He did not practice on Wednesday. The team listed it as a rest day, and New Orleans Football’s Nick Underhill reported that coach Kellen Moore clarified three times that Olave’s Wednesday absence was not injury-related. Olave resumed practicing in a limited capacity on Thursday with a foot injury. If this injury occurred in-game, he should be considered likely to play. If it occurred in practice today, he would be firmly in the questionable column. Stay tuned.

Chris Brooks (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.

Matt LaFleur said earlier this morning that they were going to “give him another day and see where he’s at tomorrow and make a decision after that.” It sounds like there’s still a chance Brooks could play in Week 5, but he’ll likely be on the questionable line on Friday.

Jaylen Wright (foot) was limited in Thursday’s practice.

It’s unclear if this was related to the foot that was giving Wright problems earlier this year, but a mid-week downgrade is never great news for a player. Wright has a real chance to miss Week 5. We’ll probably have a better sign of how likely it is that he plays Friday morning if no national reporters pick up the story earlier than that.

Rachaad White (shoulder) was limited in Thursday’s practice.

He looks to be on track to return to the backfield in Week 5. What percentage of carries that leaves him in a post-Ekeler world appears to be open to interpretation. We would not recommend starting him in any reasonably-sized league.
