Ray Davis caught both of his targets for 33 yards in the Bills’ Divisional Round loss to the Broncos.

Davis was technically the Bills’ backup running back, handling the second-most carries and gaining 275 rushing yards on 4.7 yards per carry over the season. However, Ty Johnson was used far more often in the red zone and had 24 catches to Davis’ 10. Davis did emerge as an elite kick returner, leading the NFL in yards per return at 30.4. That just won’t provide much fantasy value heading into next season.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Tanner McKee will start for the Eagles until Jalen Hurts’ (superficial blood clot) “medical situation is solved.”

'Heavy dose' of Henry can carry Ravens in Week 6
Drew Dinsick shares why he's backing the Ravens in Week 6 against the Browns, where he expects Derrick Henry to lead the way for Baltimore on the field and in prop bet markets.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo believes the Eagles could re-sign Andy Dalton.

Dalton is “an option” for the Eagles, who are down to two available quarterbacks this week, Tanner McKee and rookie Cole Payton, with Jalen Hurts having been ruled out preemptively due to a superficial blood clot in his calf. The Eagles released Dalton last week. A few teams have reportedly checked in with Dalton since his release, “though there’s familiarity and a clear role in Philly for him if he decides to return.”

ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports that Breece Hall (quad) is working with trainers on the side field on Thursday, yet remains week-to-week.

This is a small but positive update. Hall typically works on his quad rehab program elsewhere or simply observes practice. Today’s return to the side field will still result in him being listed as a non-participant, but as Cimini says, this is measurable “progress” for the Jets’ top running back. Braelon Allen will undoubtedly get the start this week, but perhaps Hall has a chance to return in Week 7 against the Dolphins. Stay tuned.

Jalen Hurts has a “superficial blood clot” and will not play in Week 6 against the Panthers.

The Eagles released an official statement announcing the news. Per their statement, Hurts took a cleat to the calf in Week 4. He went in for treatment the following Thursday and an ultrasound revealed the blood clot. Doctors ultimately cleared him to play in Week 5. He continued to receive treatment over the next two days. After practice on Wednesday (yesterday), a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. The team has now ruled him out for Week 6 as they determine the next course of action. Tanner McKee will draw the start versus Carolina.

Stefon Diggs (hamstring) did not practice Thursday.

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said he is hopeful Diggs will get some practice reps in later this week. Diggs missed Week 5 with the hamstring issue, and a DNP today puts him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 6, even if Quinn remains optimistic. Terry McLaurin and Chig Okonkwo led the team in receiving last week. McLaurin should pull away from Okonkwo as he puts more time between himself and the hamstring injury that previously knocked him out for a week.

Baker Mayfield (thumb) did not practice Thursday.

Mayfield will be ruled out for Week 6 tomorrow. Having not thrown a football since his Week 3 thumb injury, he’s also unlikely to suit up for next week’s game against the Panthers. Jalon Daniels will draw at least one more start versus the Steelers this week. His rushing production will keep him in the QB2 ranks for Sunday’s game, but a lack of passing numbers makes him a weak fantasy option.

Sean Tucker (qaud) returned to practice Thursday.

Tucker missed Wednesday’s session with a quad issue. He previously missed one game due to a hamstring injury. Tucker should be good to go for Week 6, though we don’t expect much fantasy production from the Bucs’ RB3. He has eight carries and zero catches over the past two weeks.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Giants coach John Harbaugh hinted that the Giants have “more in store for the J.J. McCarthy package.”

Who is asking for this? McCarthy was on the field for three plays in Week 5. They gained three yards, two of which came from McCarthy on a pair of rush attempts. After flaming out as a traditional quarterback in Minnesota, McCarthy is working his way toward becoming the next Taysom Hill. Jameis Winston remains the starter, but Harbaugh will use McCarthy as a change-of-pace option a few times each week. He could also take over as the starter if Winston struggles for an extended period of time, though we appear to be at least a few weeks away from that being a consideration.

The Athletic’s James Boyd reports Alec Pierce (heel) is no longer wearing a cast but is not close to a return.

Boyd said he “didn’t get the sense” that Pierce is close to a return. Pierce went on injured reserve with a heel injury after Week 2 and wore a cast on his left ankle/heel while rehabbing. It’s a sign of progress for Pierce, who will have his first chance to come back in the Colts’ Week 7 game against the Vikings.

Davis Allen (foot) did not practice Wednesday.

Allen is dealing with a foot injury and is listed as a DNP on the Rams’ estimated practice report. Fellow tight end Colby Parkinson (shoulder) was listed as limited, though he has been dealing with the shoulder injury for a few weeks now and the Rams are likely managing his workload. Parkinson is trending to play. Allen’s potential absence may lead to the Rams activating rookie Max Klare to play alongside Parkinson and fantasy streaming option Tyler Higbee in Week 6.
