Seahawks exercised CB Devon Witherspoon’s fifth-year team option for 2027.

Witherspoon has made three Pro Bowls via initial-ballot voting, so his fully guaranteed fifth-year option comes in at around $21.2 million. He also earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2025. The Seahawks now have extra time to work on a long-term extension for their talented, 25-year-old cornerback.

Jacoby Brissett completed 17-of-28 passes for 95 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Cardinals’ 7-31, Week 2 loss to the Seahawks, adding one rush for seven yards.

Brissett was seemingly dealing with some sort of thigh issue against the Seahawks. Between the Cardinals’ eighth and ninth drives, Brissett was seen briefly meeting with the training staff, who applied a heating pad to one of his legs. He tried walking after a while, but shook his head and took a seat on the bench until it was time for the Cardinals’ offense to retake the field. The veteran quarterback was constantly under pressure, though he only took two sacks. Brissett threw an interception via a bad overthrow on the Cardinals’ seventh drive, and later had a would-be interception dropped on the Cardinals’ eighth drive. The leg issue seemingly impacted his ability to drive the ball downfield, which could keep him as a mid-to-low QB2 against the 49ers in Week 3.
Giants very much 'alive' vs. Rams in Week 2
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick explain why they aren't putting too much stock in the Giants' good Week 1 form, but the Rams' slow start and other 'external factors' opens the door for an upset in LA.

Kirk Cousins completed 19-of-29 passes for 253 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the Raiders’ 26-14, Week 2 win over the Chargers.

Cousins was intercepted on the Raiders’ opening drive of the game, but no one was necessarily at fault. Cousins threw a well-timed ball to Tre Tucker on an in-breaking route and the speedy receiver slipped while cutting, leaving the pass to sail into enemy hands. The veteran passer needed a few more drives to get in rhythm but eventually began to pick apart the LA defense. He completed four passes of 20+ yards, something he managed just once in Week 1. Cousins remains more of a ball distributor than anything else, but he has looked good in that role through two weeks. There are worse Superflex options for Week 3 when Cousins takes on the Saints.

George Holani rushed four times for 13 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 2 win over the Cardinals, adding one reception for two yards.

Holani got involved late in the game, after starting RB Jadarian Price exited with a chest injury, but it was RB Emanuel Wilson who regularly spelled Price throughout the game, racking up a game-high 21 carries. If Price is sidelined against the Commanders in Week 3, Holani would likely handle passing downs in Seattle’s backfield.

Emanuel Wilson rushed 21 times for 92 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 2 win over the Cardinals.

Wilson failed to catch his lone target. The Seahawks’ burly back began rotating in on the team’s fourth drive and traded touches with starting RB Jadarian Price thereafter. On the fifth drive, Price got the first touch on 1st-and-goal, but Wilson subbed in and took three unsuccessful carries in a row, leading to a turnover on downs. That did not deter the Seahawks from using him, though. Wilson remained heavily involved for the rest of the game and generally served as the team’s lead rusher once Price exited with a chest injury in the fourth quarter. Wilson did cede high-value touches, even in scoring position, to RB George Holani, though Wilson handily out-touched him 21-5. If Price cannot play in Week 3 against the Commanders, Wilson would warrant RB2/FLEX consideration.

Oronde Gadsden caught both of his targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ Week 2 loss to the Raiders.

David Njoku left the game early with a knee injury and Charlie Kolar followed him to the locker room much later because of a forearm injury. As a result, Gadsden’s route rate jumped from 14 percent in Week 1 to 48 percent today. He still managed just two catches, but Gadsden at least found the end zone for the first time this year. The Chargers offense has looked defunct through two weeks, so even a full-time role for Gadsden could result in middling fantasy numbers. Still, he is worth a look off the waiver wire for teams in need of tight end production.

AJ Barner caught 1-of-1 targets for eight yards in the Seahawks’ Week 2 win over the Cardinals, adding one rush for one yard and one touchdown.

Be sure to send Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald a thank-you card for this one. Up 24-7 on 4th-and-goal with just over three minutes left in the game, the Seahawks started a fresh set of downs from the Cardinals’ three-yard line. Both RB George Holani and RB Emanuel Wilson were given chances to punch it in before Seahawks OC Brian Fleury dialed up a Tush Push play for Barner on 4th-and-goal. Barner jumped up and across the line, bringing his fantasy stat line from something unusable to something we can live with. He remains a boom-bust TE1 against the Commanders next week. Seahawks TE2 Elijah Arroyo nabbed a 17-yard pass on a post route, but that was it for him. So far, the Seahawks’ reported uptick in usage for the tight end position has not panned out.

Devontez Walker caught 1-of-2 targets for 47 yards in the Ravens’ Week 2 loss to the Saints.

Walker’s lone reception came on a 47-yard deep shot from Lamar Jackson. Walker fought through a DPI to make the catch, but was otherwise a non-factor for the Ravens. His 16 routes run were the fewest of any Ravens receiver who took the field in this one. Any hope fantasy managers had of Walker seeing a meaningful role with Zay Flowers (hamstring) sidelined can be put on hold for now. He will likely revert to being a healthy scratch if Flowers returns in Week 3 against the Cowboys.

Colts WR Alec Pierce (heel) is questionable to return to Week 2 against the Chiefs.

Pierce came up lame on a route on the final play of the first quarter and was escorted to the medical tent by the training staff. He appeared to be unable to put any weight on the injured leg. It’s obviously not what fantasy managers want to see after he missed most of the offseason program following surgery on the ankle and heel on the same leg in late March. He remained in the medical tent for about 10 minutes before being carted to the locker room. Pierce caught his lone target for 11 yards prior to departing.

Steelers coach Mike McCarthy “plans to pare down the game plan with the goal of executing the staple plays more consistently.”

The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo penned a rather pessimistic assessment of the Steelers’ current state on Sunday night. We can’t necessarily blame him. The results have been disappointing. Perhaps thinning out the playbook will pay off. McCarthy believes QB Aaron Rodgers “could play with any volume of game plan, but at the end of the day, it’s a team game.” DeFabo notes that the Steelers moved WR DK Metcalf into the slot at times, attempting to avoid Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez’s coverage, but Gonzalez surprisingly trailed him, and Metcalf turned in an inefficient outing. If the Steelers (1-1) are going to meet their summer expectations, players will have to rise to the occasion despite difficult matchups. They face the 2-0 Bengals in Week 3, which makes for a stiff test.

Jaylen Waddle caught 8-of-10 targets for 138 yards in the Broncos’ Week 2 win against the Jaguars.

Waddle was targeted on an obscene 42 percent of his pass routes against the Jaguars. He came up a yard short of a long touchdown in the first half and easily led all Denver pass catchers with ten looks from Bo Nix. Broncos OC Davis Webb’s insistence on force feeding Waddle makes the wideout too big to fail in the balanced Denver offense. Despite a letdown of a Week 1 performance against KC, Waddle should be locked into lineups until further notice. He’ll be a top-20 player in Week 3 against the Rams.
