Raiders waived RB George Atkinson III, OG Mitch Bell, WR K.J. Brent, CB Kenneth Durden, WR Marvin Hall, DL Drew Iddings, DL Branden Jackson, OG Denver Kirkland, DT Derrick Lott, LB John Lotulelei, TE Jake McGee, WR Jaydon Mickens, TE Ryan O’Malley, OG Oni Omoile, LB Korey Toomer, DL Greg Townsend Jr. and LB Kyrie Wilson.
The Raiders were supposedly deep heading into training camp but have cut a wave of undrafted free agents. There won’t be a waiver-wire bonanza on their departing players.

Raiders claimed RB George Atkinson off waivers from the Browns.
He replaces Taiwan Jones, who was cut this week. Atkinson played the first two years of his career in Oakland. He’ll compete for a role on special teams.

Browns claimed RB George Atkinson III, DB Briean Boddy-Calhoun, DB Marcus Burley, DE Tyrone Holmes and LB Corey Lemonier off waivers.
The rebuilding Browns were the league’s most aggressive team on waivers. Atkinson rushed 19 times for an eye-popping 191 yards this preseason. His addition likely means sayonara for Terrell Watson.
  • FA Running Back #34
Browns re-signed RB George Atkinson III to a one-year, $615,000 contract.
An exclusive rights free agent, Atkinson appeared in all 16 games as a special teamer last season. He’s not a candidate for an expanded role in the Browns’ backfield.

Browns waived RB George Atkinson III.
The Browns gave his roster spot to former Jet Brandon Wilds. Atkinson III recorded 34 yards and a touchdown on seven carries over 22 offensive snaps last season. He should resurface as a special teamer.

Raiders signed Notre Dame RB George Atkinson III.
Atkinson (6-foot-1, 218) is a tight-hipped speedster who clocked 4.48 at the Combine after rushing 93 times for 555 yards (5.97 YPC) as a junior. He surprisingly went pro a year early despite failing to ever earn Irish feature back duties. Atkinson had only 10 catches in his college career, and is so painfully straight-linish that we expect him to max out on special teams. He did score twice on kickoff returns as a freshman in 2011. Atkinson is a low-ceiling, one-dimensional talent.

    Jets signed RB George Atkinson.
The Jets cleared a roster spot for him by cutting TE Bucky Hodges. Elijah McGuire went down with a broken foot on the first day of training camp, prompting the Jets to add another back. Atkinson spent most of last year on the Chiefs’ practice squad. He’s just a camp body.
