Lions signed WR Geremy Davis, formerly of the Chargers.
Davis has played in 36 games for the Giants and Chargers since 2015, yet has just nine career targets. The 28-year-old WR isn’t expected to compete for anything more than a roster spot and potential role as the offense’s No. 4 or No. 5 WR.

  • FA Wide Receiver
Chargers WR Geremy Davis (hamstring) is doubtful for Monday night.
Andre Patton has posted 82%, 82% and 81% snap rates over the past three weeks while Davis has been ruled out. It’s a curious decision to relegate Austin Ekeler to 53%, 34% and 45% roles, as Patton doesn’t have a catch since Week 4. Even if we want to assume that Patton is a more-viable WR than Ekeler (this is debatable), there’s little doubt that Ekeler would be a more serviceable decoy than a rookie that Philip Rivers has essentially ignored the entire season.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Chargers WR Geremy Davis (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on the team’s estimated practice report Monday.
The Chargers didn’t actually practice Monday, but they’re required to submit an estimated report. Davis is tentatively expected to be sidelined for the team’s Thursday night matchup against the Raiders. Mike Williams (92% snaps), Keenan Allen (87%) and Andre Patton worked in 3-WR sets in the Chargers’ Week 9 win over the Packers. Allen and Williams are obviously locked in as upside fantasy plays, but Patton doesn’t have a target since Week 4 and is nothing more than a DFS showdown slate dart throw.

Chargers declared WR Geremy Davis, S Roderic Teamer, DL Cortez Broughton, DL Brandon Mebane, DL Justin Jones, QB Easton Stick and RB Troymaine Pope inactive for Week 9 against the Packers.
It’s an unusually-quiet inactives list for an unusually-healthy Chargers team for this time of year.

Chargers WR Geremy Davis (hamstring) is questionable for Week 9.
The Chargers gave Andre Patton an 82% snap rate last week, as Geremy Davis (18%) was relegated to the bench. Still, the undrafted rookie wasn’t even targeted against the Bears. Neither is a realistic fantasy option this week.

Geremy Davis caught two passes for 25 yards in Week 4 against Miami.
Davis had an expanded role with Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin out. With Dontrelle Inman going down late in the fourth quarter with a quad injury, Davis could be in line for an ever larger role in Week 5.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Chargers re-signed WR Geremy Davis to a one-year contract.
A deep reserve and special teamer, Davis has not caught a pass since 2015.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Giants waived WR Geremy Davis.
A 2015 sixth-rounder, Davis caught two passes for 21 yards in 10 appearances as a rookie. He saw work with the first-team offense early in camp this year, but a hamstring injury slowed him late. With Davis out, Tavarres King looks likely to make the initial 53.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Giants second-year WR Geremy Davis has been sprinkled in with the first-team offense at training camp.
The Giants are bringing Victor Cruz along slowly, and Davis has been the guy elevated to the starting offense when Cruz needs a break. Last year’s sixth-round pick, Davis worked with the ones all spring and seems to be the favorite for No. 4 duties. Davis is 6'2/217 and was viewed by some as a poor man’s Kevin White in last year’s draft. He played just 125 snaps as a rookie.

Giants WR Geremy Davis “saw a lot of time with Eli Manning” and the first-team offense during OTAs and minicamp.
Not only did Davis get “a lot” of reps with Eli, he apparently made an impression. “He knows the offense very well. He studies hard. He’s really in tune with what his assignments are. He’s got great size. He’s one of our bigger receivers. You can move him around and put him in different spots,” Manning said. “Hopefully he can step up and get on a roll and make some plays for us come game time.” Davis will not play a big role if Victor Cruz (knee, calf) is able to come back healthy, but that is a big if. It is not crazy to think Davis makes a run at targets behind Odell Beckham and rookie Sterling Shepard this season.
