The 37-year-old Beljan has made just one PGA Tour start this season, missing the cut at the Puerto Rico Open. His spot was filled initially by John Rollins on Monday, but he also removed his name from the field and was replaced by alternate Goydos. Rollins has made three starts this season, missing the cut at Bermuda, Puerto Rico and at the RBC Canadian Open. For the 58-year-old Goydos, it will make his second PGA Tour start this season -- and his first appearance in the 3M Open -- after missing the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He’s played primarily on the Champions circuit this season, notching four top 10s in 13 starts.

Beljan is no longer a full-time player. He was set to make his second start of the season but has played just 10 total events, with one payday since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. The 37-year-old was likely far off the fantasy radar this week but gamers should remove him from any consideration now that he’s backed out.

The 36-year-old has made just four starts this season, missing the cut in three of them. He hasn’t played a full season since 2015 but still finds his way into a handful of events each year, thanks to his victory at the 2012 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. He hasn’t landed a top 25 since 2015 so he will remain off the fantasy radar for the foreseeable future.

Beljan, 36, has made just one PGA Tour start this season – at the Puerto Rico Open in February where he shot 70-71-68-72 (7 under) to finished T-35. Last season, Beljan remained active by playing mini-tour events in his home state of Arizona, but he has teed it up just three times on the PGA Tour. He missed the cut at the Bermuda Championship and withdrew during the second round of the Puerto Rico Open before missing the cut at the Barracuda Championship. Beljan has not had full PGA Tour status since exhausting a major medical extension in 2018. His lone career victory came in 2012 at Disney, and he reached a career-best 64th in the world after losing a playoff to John Merrick at Riviera in 2013. But he’s been outside the top 1000 since 2017 and hasn’t made a cut on Tour since a T-45 finish at the 2019 Barbasol Championship.

Beljan made just two starts on Tour this year, withdrawing during the second round of the Puerto Rico Open before missing the cut at the Barracuda Championship in August. But he has kept his game sharp in Arizona, playing various smaller events during and after quarantine including the Scottsdale Open in April and, more recently, an Outlaw Tour event in Glendale just last week. Beljan, 36, has not had full status on Tour since exhausting a major medical extension in 2018. His lone career victory came at Disney in the final event of 2012, and he reached a career-best 64th in the world after losing a playoff to John Merrick at Riviera in 2013. But he’s been outside the top 1000 since 2017 and hasn’t made a cut on Tour since a T-45 finish at the 2019 Barbasol Championship nearly 18 months ago.

At press time, no reason has been furnished. It’s his 10th mid-tourney WD in 138 events, first since the 2017 Travelers. Beginning off No. 10 tee, the 35-year-old was 1-over thru nine holes and 2-over total, two short of the projected cut line, when he called it quits. Playing out of the Beyond 150 category, this was just his second start of the season after a missed cut by one at the opposite-field Bermuda back in November (70-71).

Beljan was the third alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry as one of three alternates this morning. The rookie withdrew on his 21st hole at TPC Louisiana last week due to a finger injury. He’s 3-for-8 this year with just one top-70 payday (T48, Puerto Rico).

The rookie has withdrawn early during both of his last two starts due to a finger and hand injury, respectively. He’s a mere 3-for-9 this season and currently sits 224th in FedExCup Points. Only duffer leagues should be licking their chops in advance of next week’s stop in Texas.

The rookie rinsed his tee ball at the par-3 third hole, dropped and then knocked his third to just over six feet from the hole before walking off. He was 1-over-par on the round and 6-over for the tournament. Beljan is the third alternate for next week’s Wells Fargo Championship.

Last week, a finger injury ended his week on his 21st hole, so it may be the same malady that forced today’s decision. He was scheduled to go off the 10th tee at 2:15 p.m. ET. The rookie opened with a 6-over-par 39-39=78 on Thursday.
