PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Honda Motor Company is extending its title sponsorship deal with its PGA Tour event for five more years.
Honda and the PGA Tour announced the deal Tuesday evening, an agreement that will run through 2021.
This year marks Honda’s 35th as title sponsor of the South Florida event. The company is the longest running continuous tournament sponsor on Tour.
The tournament got its start as the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic in Lauderhill, Fla., in 1972. Ten years later, Honda became the title sponsor.
