Big Breakers vie for LPGA cards

Several Big Breakers are on display this week at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., bidding for a big break into the LPGA next year.

Sara Brown, who competed in both ‘Big Break’ seasons this year is on a global quest to secure playing privileges in 2011. The Michigan State graduate played the Ladies European Tour Pre-Qualifying Tournament in La Manga, Spain last week, finishing T-2 to advance to the LET Final Qualifying next week. Sandwiched in-between the two trips to Europe is her bid to become an LPGA member this week.

Blair O’Neal already has one start wrapped-up in 2011 as victory in ‘Big Break Dominican Republic’ gave her a place in the Kia Classic field in late March. O’Neal must finish inside the top 20 this week to guarantee about another half dozen appearances on tour. The most recent ‘Big Break’ winner is not the only victor in the field; Kim Welch and Briana Vega have also qualified for the 119-player field.

Completing the ‘Big Break’ line-up from our Sandals Resorts show are Seema Sadekar and Ryann O’Toole. Sadekar is fresh-off a recent trip to India, where she competed in the LET’s Hero Honda Women’s India Open. O’Toole played last week at LPGA International in the Suncoast Ladies Series, losing in a play-off to Hannah Jun.

‘Golf Central’ will have updated scores each evening from the LPGA Qualifying Tournament and we’ll show you highlights from Daytona in Sunday’s edition of the show.
