Snedeker on road to recovery

Thumbnail

There was one member of the PGA Tour community who took particularly interest in Jonathan Byrd’s victory on Sunday at the season opener in Hawaii.

Brandt Snedeker – who, like Byrd, spent the off-season preparing for the new year at Frederica Golf Club in coastal Georgia – had surgery late last year to repair a torn labrum in his left hip. In 2004 Byrd had a similar surgery and has won four of his five Tour titles since then, including last week’s opener.

According to Snedeker’s trainer, Sea Island Resort’s Randy Myers, he recently started walking holes and is preparing to begin his season next week at the Bob Hope Classic.
