Jace Bugg of the United States fired a course-record 9-under-par 63 today to come from behind and win the Canadian Tour’s $150,000 South Carolina Challenge by three shots.

Bugg started the day six shots behind third-round leader Scott Hend of Australia. He birdied the final three holes on the front nine at Barefoot Resort’s Davis Love III course to go out in 4-under 32 then went 5-under on the back to pass Hend and runner-up Rob McMillan of Winnipeg. His round included an eagle on the par-5 13th hole for the third straight day.
It was the first professional victory for Bugg, who finished with a 72 hole-total of 14-under 274 for his first professional victory and won $24,000.
McMillan, the top Canadian on the 2000 Canadian Tour, fired a 2-under 70 for solo possession of second.
