2026 Presidents Cup: Ranking all 24 players at Medinah

The 2026 Presidents Cup is set for September 24-27 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, with the U.S. team looking to win its 11th consecutive cup.

The Americans are 13-1-1 over the Internationals at the Presidents Cup since its inception in 1994, so have the Internationals finally fielded a team to snap the U.S. streak? Or will Scottie Scheffler and Co. keep the dominant streak going?

Here’s our ranking of the 24 competitors this week, from most likely to lead the points tally to least likely:

1. Xander Schauffele (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 10-4-0 (3 appearances)

Curious why Scottie Scheffler isn’t up here? Well, when it comes to match play, Xander Schauffele is the top dog. Typically paired with Patrick Cantlay, Schauffele has made a name for himself at Presidents and Ryder Cups for his consistency and exceptional record. He hasn’t won since 2025 but continues to perform well, notching seven top 10s in 20 starts this season and only missing two cuts.

2. Si Woo Kim (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: 6-5-0 (3 appearances)

Together with Tom Kim, Si Woo Kim is electric. They became an endearing pair during the 2022 matches, when they won Saturday fourballs over Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele. That year, he led the team with a 3-1-0 record. It’s been a winless season for Si Woo, but he has only missed one cut and finished top 10 on 11 different occasions, bringing a red hot spark to Illinois for his team.

3. Collin Morikawa (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 6-2-0 (2 appearances)

New dad Morikawa continues to deal with back issues after having to withdraw from The Players back in March. Still, he’s followed up his win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a T-7 at the Masters, T-4 at the RBC Heritage, a solo third at the Travelers and a T-4 at the BMW Championship. Morikawa has only lost once in each of his previous two Presidents Cup appearances.

4. Cameron Young (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 1-2-1 (1 appearance)

After a long drought, Young won the 2025 Wyndham Championship and hasn’t looked back, becoming one of the only bright spots of the U.S. Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black before winning this year’s Players and Cadillac Championship. Young is 20/20 in starts this season and has eight top 10s, including a T-11 at the Tour Championship.

5. Hideki Matsuyama (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: 9-13-5 (6 appearances)

Matsuyama and Adam Scott are the veterans of the International team, and they get the reps to match. In 2024, he beat Scottie Scheffler in singles. This season has been a strong one for the 2021 Masters champion despite no wins; he has made every cut in his 23 starts and has six top 10s.

6. Scottie Scheffler (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 3-5-1 (2 appearances)

Scheffler? The world No. 1? This low? Well, everyone has a weakness, and it seems Scottie Scheffler’s is match play. He might have 22 wins on Tour, but the reality is he is 6-11-4 in five appearances across the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. He’ll keep automatically qualifying to teams as the most dominant player in the world, but it doesn’t change the fact that he was winless in 2022 and eeked out a 3-2-0 record in 2024, including losing to Hideki Matsuyama, 1 down, in singles.

7. Patrick Cantlay (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 10-4-0 (3 appearances)

Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are the U.S. team’s dynamic duo – in Presidents Cups and Ryder Cups, but Cantlay also holds his own. He is 3-0 in singles matches in his prior three appearances at the Presidents Cup. This season, he’s only missed four cuts and has five top 5s, including a runner-up at the BMW Championship.

8. Adam Scott (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: 20-28-6 (11 appearances)

With his 12th appearance this week, Scott ties Phil Mickelson for the most Presidents Cup appearances of any player. He might have a losing record, but the 46-year-old has made key contributions to the International team through the years. His consistency – appearing in every Cup since 2003 – cannot be understated. He was 2-3-0 in 2024, with both wins coming in foursomes with Taylor Pendrith. Scott could surpass Ernie Els for the most wins by any International player (currently tied at 20).

9. Tom Kim (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: 3-5-1 (2 appearances)

Tom Kim won for the first time in three years this season when he topped the field at the Genesis Scottish Open. After a couple season slump, 2026 has seen a resurgence from the 24-year-old. Tom and Si Woo Kim have given us some of the best Presidents Cup moments of the past few years. Together they are two of the sparks for the International team.

10. Wyndham Clark (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 1-2-1 (1 appearance)

Still early in his Presidents Cup career, Clark has had a stellar season. He’s won three tournaments, including his second U.S. Open title. One of the hottest debates as the Tour season has wound down is whether Clark or Scottie Scheffler should win Player of the Year. Here they’re on the same team, and both are looking to bring home more points for the Americans than in their prior appearances.

11. Ryan Fox (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

There’s something about Ryan Fox’s fast play that screams, “I will dominate match play!” If nothing else, his efficiency could toy with the Americans’ mental game. The New Zealander could pair particularly well with Aussie Adam Scott. If you’re not familiar, the 39-year-old Fox won The Open this summer – his first major title – after joining the Tour in 2023.

12. Russell Henley (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 3-1-0 (1 appearance)

Henley had a solid debut in 2024, beating Sungjae Im in singles to cap a 3-1-0 week. He won the Charles Schwab Challenge earlier this season and most recently finished T-4 at the Tour Championship.

13. Sungjae Im (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: 6-7-2 (3 appearances)

After breaking out as a rookie captain’s pick in 2019 with a 3-1-1 record, Im went 2-2-1 in 2022. The results didn’t carry over to 2024 though, when he went 1-4-0, only beating Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele in Friday foursomes. It’s been a great season for Im on Tour despite no wins. He has five top 10s and has finished top 20 in his last four starts, bringing the momentum to Medinah.

14. Ryo Hisatsune (Int’l)

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

Similar to Fox, something about Hisatsune screams Presidents Cup darling. After joining the Tour in 2024, Hisatsune has made 23 of 26 possible cuts this season and notched five top 10 finishes. He looks up to compatriot Hideki Matsuyama, who could teach him a few things this week as one of the International team’s workhorses.

15. Justin Thomas (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 10-3-2 (3 appearances)

Similar to Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, Thomas is selected for Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup teams time and time again because he knows how to win at these events. Thomas withdrew from the Biltmore Championship Asheville last week. No reason was given for his withdrawal.

16. Sam Burns (U.S.)

Presidents Cup Record: 3-3-3 (2 appearances)

Burns has seen mixed results at the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. This year in particular has been challenging for Burns on the course; he finished runner-up at the U.S. Open and third at The Open, nearly winning his first major title but unable to top the performances of Wyndham Clark and Ryan Fox, both of whom are in the field this week.

17. Chris Gotterup

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

Gotterup is hyped for the strides he’s been able to make on Tour since joining in 2024. He has five wins, including three this season, and now it’s time for him to make his debut at the Presidents Cup.

18. Corey Conners

Presidents Cup Record: 2-7-0 (2 appearances)

Corey Conners had a losing record at the 2022 matches, but he was 2-3-0 in 2024. This season has been a slow one, with only one top 10 and a T-14 at The Open.

19. Christiaan Bezuidenhout

Presidents Cup Record: 3-1-1 (2 appearances)

Bezuidenhout was one of the bright spots of the 2024 International team, coming away with the only winning record of the group (2-1-0). He was 1-0-1 in the 2022 matches. This season, Bezuidenhout’s best finish was a T-6 at the Myrtle Beach Classic. While coming off a missed cut at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, it’s clear Bezuidenhout can hold his own in match play.

20. Jackson Koivun

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

Koivun wasted no time after he turned pro in June. He won his first Tour title with a statement win over Scottie Scheffler at the 3M Open. Still, the 21-year-old is the baby of the U.S. team and will have to learn the ropes while having the weight of expectations on his shoulders. Most recently, he was T-5 at the Biltmore Championship Asheville.

21. Min Woo Lee

Presidents Cup Record: 0-1-1 (1 appearance)

Lee is still looking for his first Presidents Cup win. His best result in 2024 was tying Wyndham Clark in singles. This season, he’s had five top 10s and most recently finished T-4 at the Tour Championship.

22. Jacob Bridgeman

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

Bridgeman just won the Biltmore Championship Asheville – his second win on Tour after winning the Genesis Invitational earlier this season. He has had a breakout season, but will that translate at Medinah for match play?

23. Nick Taylor

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

Making his Presidents Cup debut as a captain’s pick, Taylor is a toss-up in match play. He hasn’t had the best season, only finishing top 10 once, despite making the cut in 22 of 24 starts.

24. Nico Echavarria

Presidents Cup Record: First timer

A three-time winner on Tour, including at the Cognizant Classic this season, Echavarria comes to Medinah with the chance to make International captain Ogilvy either regret his captain’s pick or celebrate it. Most recently, he missed the cut at the Biltmore Championship Asheville.
