Rickie Fowler recalled watching good friend Bubba Watson win the Masters, and the immediate aftermath Wednesday saying that he and Ben Crane were in the caddie area watching Watson play the closing holes in the final round at Augusta National.
“We said if Bubba won or had a chance, we’d go to 18,” Fowler said Wednesday while co-hosting ‘Morning Drive’ with Gary Williams. “After he parred 17, I changed clothes – I had on a tee-shirt and shorts, which wouldn’t have been appropriate for there – and we watched him finish regulation, the first playoff hole and on 10 (the second playoff hole).”

After Watson defeated Louis Oosthuizen on the second extra hole and fulfilled his media obligations, Watson met Fowler, friends and family in the Butler Cabin. As for what he told Watson when he got a chance to congratulate him, Fowler, who spent Monday and Tuesday night of this week sleeping on Watson’s couch said, “It was something along the lines of ‘Good job, man. I’m really proud of you.’”
