Eagles signed LB Greg Lloyd from their practice squad.
The seventh-rounder out of UConn had a chance to make the final roster until a high-ankle sprain sidelined him toward the end of training camp. He’ll add depth with Moise Fokou (ankle) out for the season.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Colts acquired LBs Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd from the Eagles in exchange for CB Kevin Thomas and a 2013 seventh-round pick.
It’s a trade that makes sense for both clubs, which is no surprise considering Colts GM Ryan Grigson comes from the Eagles front office. Fokou and Lloyd were extraneous after the Eagles upgraded to DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks during the offseason. A 22-game starter over the past three years, Fokou will team with 2011 seventh-rounder Lloyd to provide depth inside in Chuck Pagano’s new 3-4 defense. The Eagles did well to land 2010 third-rounder Thomas while also picking up a draft pick in exchange for two players unlikely to make the final roster.

    Bills waived LB Greg Lloyd.
The 2011 seventh-rounder was signed late last season, and appeared in the first two games of his career. Getting waived at this stage of the offseason is never a good sign in the age of the 90-man roster, but Lloyd will look to latch on elsewhere as a camp body.
  • FA Wide Receiver #80
Bills promoted WR Chris Hogan and LB Greg Lloyd from their practice squad.
Undrafted out of Monmouth, Hogan is the former lacrosse player who earned the nickname “7-11" on HBO’s Hard Knocks because he was always open. With Donald Jones and Marcus Easley out for Week 16, Hogan will add depth behind Stevie Johnson and T.J. Graham.
  • FA Linebacker #59
Eagles selected UConn LB Greg Lloyd with the No. 237 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
Lloyd is an inside linebacker prospect, not to be confused with his edge-rushing father who terrorized the AFC North with the Steelers in the 1990s. A three-year starter for the Huskies, Lloyd was highly rated as a junior but struggled to regain form in 2010 after suffering a knee injury. He has the talent to stick as an early-down backup in Philly.
  • FA Linebacker #59
Eagles signed No. 237 overall pick ILB Greg Lloyd to a four-year contract.
The Eagles certainly need help at inside linebacker, where they are letting Stewart Bradley walk while relying on unproven Jamar Chaney. This seventh-round pick actually has a chance to stick on the final roster.
  • FA Linebacker #59
Rookie Eagles ILB Greg Lloyd has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.
That should land the seventh-round pick on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks. It also severely diminishes his chances of making the roster, though the Eagles’ lack of depth at inside linebacker could earn him a reprieve.
