Giants FB Henry Hynoski was carted off the field with an undisclosed injury at OTAs on Wednesday.
The “Hynoceros” is one of the top fullbacks in the game, and the Giants are one of few teams that still feature a lead blocker for their running backs. OTAs are non-contact, and non-contact injuries are typically never good. The G-Men might need to take a gander at the free-agent crop.

Giants FB Henry Hynoski has been diagnosed with an injured left MCL and chip fracture to his lateral plateau.
It’s actually a positive revelation for Hynoski. When he went down during Wednesday’s OTA session, it looked like Hynoski could have blown out his ACL or patella. Instead, he will undergo surgery Friday and has a realistic shot at being back for Week 1. Hynoski graded out as Pro Football Focus’ fifth-best fullback in terms of lead blocking last season.

The Newark Star-Ledger suggests Giants FB Henry Hynoski (knee) may open the season on the PUP list.
The move would cost “Hynocerous” the first six games. Hynoski suffered left MCL damage and a fractured lateral plateau at OTAs. The Giants are reportedly “concerned” with his injury, explaining their interest in free agent FB Vonta Leach. Hynoski has been an impact lead blocker when healthy, pile driving defenders on I-formation and offset-I runs in front of Ahmad Bradshaw and David Wilson.

Giants FB Henry Hynoski is expected to start camp on the PUP list.
This news isn’t surprising; Hynoski is expected to miss most of training camp. He crumbled to the ground at OTAs in late May with an injured left MCL and fractured lateral plateau. Hynoski has a chance to be ready Week 1, but the Giants are considering going after free agent FB Vonta Leach.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, the “fear” is that Giants FB Henry Hynoski’s fractured shoulder is a season-ending injury.
Beat writer Conor Orr believes Hynoski could soon be headed to injured reserve, but there’s been no word from the Giants. The loss of their lead blocker isn’t going to help the Giants’ thus far anemic rushing attack, but backup Bear Pascoe isn’t a massive downgrade.

Giants FB Henry Hynoski exited Sunday’s Week 3 game with a shoulder injury.
Hynoski is a pile-driving lead blocker, so his is bad news for the Giants’ running game. He was ruled out after undergoing X-rays in the locker room.

The Giants announced Sunday that FB Henry Hynoski fractured his shoulder in Week 3 against the Panthers.
Adding injury to insult after their 38-0 loss Sunday. The Giants have a capable backup lead blocker in TE Bear Pascoe, but Hynoski’s loss won’t help David Wilson’s chances of turning his season around. In terms of sheer lane-clearing ability, the “Hynocerous” is a top-five lead blocker in the league.

Giants placed FB Henry Hynoski (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Hynoski fractured his shoulder in the Week 3 loss to the Panthers. The Giants have signed Terminator John Conner to replace him. The Hynoceros, who will turn 25 in December, will be a restricted free agent after the season. He was ProFootballFocus’ No. 5 fullback in terms of blocking in 2012.

Giants activated FB Henry Hynoski (knee) from active/PUP.
Hynoski, ProFootballFocus’ No. 8 fullback last season, injured his MCL and fractured his lateral plateau at May OTAs. His return to practice ahead of schedule confirms he’ll be ready for Week 1. It’s great news for David Wilson and the running game, especially after recent injuries to David Diehl and David Baas.

The Giants will not tender FB Henry Hynoski as a restricted free agent.
By not tendering Hynoski, the Giants allow him to become an unrestricted free agent. At that point, the Giants are expected to try to re-sign him at less than the restricted tender would have been. He’d compete with John Conner for reps. The Hynocerous was PFF’s No. 5 fullback in terms of blocking in 2012 and then missed all of 2013 with a shoulder injury.
