Ibandel Isabel has re-signed with the Kansas City Monarchs of the independent American Association.
Isabel spent 62 games with Double-A Rocket City in the Angels’ minor-league system before finishing the 2021 campaign with Kansas City in the American Association. The 26-year-old slugger eclipsed the 25-homer mark in three consecutive years in the Dodgers’ minor-league system from 2017 to 2019, but has yet to appear in the majors.

Angels signed 1B Ibandel Isabel to a minor league contract.
Isabel has put up impressive power numbers in the lower minors, but he is 25 years old and has yet to appear in a game above the Double-A level. He’ll be a depth piece for the Angels leading into the 2021 season.

  • MLB 1st Baseman #99
Reds acquired 1B Idanbel Isabel and RHP Zach Neal from the Dodgers for RHP Ariel Hernandez.
The 22-year-old has batted .283/.352/.495 with 52 home runs and 211 RBI in 326 career minor league games, but he’s yet to advance past High-A ball. Isabel will head to High-A Daytona, the Reds’ affiliate in the Florida State League. He’s a worthy flier for the rebuilding Cincinnati organization even if there are some flaws to his game.
