According to BasketActu’s Dylan De Abreu, Isaia Cordinier is expected to fly to New York in order to work out for the Nets.
Cordinier, who was selected by the Hawks with the 44th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, has yet to play in an official NBA game. The 6-foot-5 guard did play with the Hawks in the NBA Summer League in 2016, but suffered a fractured right wrist. Since then he has remained overseas, with the Nets acquiring his draft rights from the Hawks in 2018. Brooklyn currently has 14 players under contract, and one (Kessler Edwards) on a two-way deal. Even if Cordinier were to be brought over, it’s highly unlikely that he’d be worth targeting in any fantasy league.

Isaia Cordinier will suit up for the Hawks’ summer league squad, although he won’t be coming to the NBA for the 2016-17 season.
Cordinier will get some experience going up against other members of his draft class at summer league, but he will then return overseas to play for France for at least one more season. Cordinier also added that he’ll be making the jump to France’s top league (Pro A) this upcoming season, and while he’ll be getting some useful experience, he’s obviously going to be non-factor in fantasy hoops.

Hawks draft pick Isaia Cordinier will play for Antibes in the French Pro A league next season.
This was always the expectation and it’s not a result of Cordinier’s shaky play during Summer League, where he shot a combined 5-of-20 from the field. We’ll get another look at him next summer.

The Hawks selected Isaia Cordinier with the 44th pick on Thursday.
They got this pick from the Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jerian Grant deal last year. This 19-year-old shooting guard from France is going to need to put on some weight at just 177 pounds for the two, but he can play some point guard. He looked good against the weaker competition overseas and is one of the better shooters among the overseas prospects. His offensive skills could be really good down the line, though. Cordinier may play in Europe next year, but he could be someone to watch in a few years.

Isaia Cordinier will remain in France for at least one more season.
The Hawks selected him with the 44th pick in the draft, but the 19-year-old prospect was expected to be a draft-and-stash guy. “He is a player that we studied pretty deeply throughout the season,” Hawks general manager Wes Wilcox said. “He is very young, 19 years old, very athletic. He plays extremely hard. Extremely high character. We were very pleased to have him available at the 44th pick.”

Hawks summer league coach Taylor Jenkins likes Isaia Cordinier’s “competitive nature.”
“That’s the great thing about him, his competitive nature,” he said. “He’s got to figure some things out, learn the intricacies of being a wing. But he doesn’t shy away from competition. The energy and the effort he brings, he’ll figure it out but we can start with that.” As a reminder, the Hawks plan to stash Cordinier in France for at least one more season.

Isaia Cordinier (wrist) will not play on Friday.
The Hawks will also rest DeAndre Bembry and Taurene Prince. Cordinier’s wrist injury is not believed to be serious, so he should be good to go in a few weeks. He’ll be staying overseas for at least another year.

Isaia Cordinier may be dealing with a broken right wrist.
The No. 44 overall selection of the 2016 NBA draft did miss his final summer league game with a wrist injury, and he posted a picture to Twitter on Thursday with his right wrist heavily bandaged. That being said, Cordinier will spend his entire rookie season playing overseas, so there’s really no reason to spend a draft pick on him in any format.

Isaia Cordinier will join the Hawks for Summer League.
The No. 44 overall selection of the 2016 NBA draft spent last season overseas, but he will be looking to prove to the Hawks that he’s ready to come over with a strong showing this summer. It sure seems like the Hawks are ready to rebuild, so Cordinier could be in the mix for minutes in his rookie season.
