Raiders selected DT JJ Pegues with the No. 180 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Pegues (6'2, 309) was a reserve in his first two seasons at Auburn in addition to his first season at Ole Miss before starting 12 of 13 games in 2023. He would then earn third-team All-SEC honors in his fifth collegiate season, primarily excelling as a short yardage run-stopper, routinely deployed near the goal line. He played in all 13 games in his final season, notching 42 tackles and 13 tackles for loss in 11 starts. His athletic profile and draft capital scream rotational player, at best, which is what we expect to see out of the rookie in 2025.

Pegues (6'3"/308) was a TE his freshman year, catching seven passes for 57 yards, and he racked up 16 total tackles (two for loss) in nine games as a DT this year. He was a four-star recruit in the 2020 class, with offers from Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss to name a few others. He’ll search for more consistent playing time in 2022.
