Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley said No. 12 overall pick OT Kadyn Proctor “can excel at both tackle and guard.”
“We could see him getting some work at guard or tackle,” Hafley told reporters. “We’ll all talk more about it and sort it out.” Proctor played almost exclusively left tackle in his final season at Alabama but apparently showed the Miami brass enough to gain excitement about a potential multi-faceted offensive lineman. New offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik has long showed a propensity to run to set up the pass since his time with the Texans, with it now appearing more likely that Proctor takes the bulk of his snaps at right guard after being a bulldozer in the run game in 2025.
  • Dolphins traded back with the Cowboys to select Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In addition to the No. 12 overall pick, the Dolphins also acquired the No. 177 and No. 180 overall picks from the Cowboys. Proctor (6’6"/352) anchored Alabama’s offensive line at left tackle in 2025, logging 901 snaps with 882 of them coming on the blindside and turning in his busiest collegiate season to date. He was notably sturdy in pass protection, allowing 21 pressures on 584 pass-block snaps with only 2 sacks attributed, translating to an 84.2 PFF pass-block grade and a solid 98.0 efficiency rating on traditional protections and 97.5 on true pass sets where Alabama asked him to win one-on-one. In the run game, Proctor paired that pass-proficiency with a mauling mentality, earning an 81.1 PFF run-block grade. Across all phases he was disciplined, committing just 2 penalties on the year and a modest 2.3% blown-block rate, helping stabilize an Alabama unit that had trouble running the ball. He checked out well athletically at the Combine with a 32.5” vertical (94th%) and 9.26 overall RAS score. The mammoth Proctor is rugged in the run game (0.6% blown run block rate), effective in pass pro, and the kind of reliable, high-volume anchor who has the traits to become a long term contributor, whether it is at guard or tackle.
  • Iowa received a verbal commitment from five-star 2023 OT Kadyn Proctor.
The commitment of Proctor (6'8/330) to the Hawkeyes is a monumental move for head coach Kirk Ferentz and the program. The No. 2 ranked OT recruit in the country has opted to stay home and play for his hometown Hawkeyes, becoming the seventh in-state recruit of the 2023 class to commit to the program. Proctor brings enormous size to the OT position and is expected to spend most of his time on the left side of the line. The three-sport athlete also participates in basketball, along with track and field, and placed fifth as a junior at the Iowa State Track and Field Championship in May 2022. Prior to committing to Iowa, Proctor had also received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida, State, Georiga, and several other big-name programs. 247Sports.com’s Allen Trieu has already comped him to NFL star LT Trent Williams.

  • 2023 five-star T Kadyn Proctor set his official visits for the summer.
Proctor (6'8/330) has the ideal size for the tackle position and has been heavily recruited by schools across the nation. His visits are very reflective of that. He will be visiting Arkansas State, Alabama, Penn State, and Oregon in June with a visit to Michigan on Labor Day weekend. He won’t be taking a visit to home state school Iowa and for good reason. “I have been to Iowa 10 or more times, so I will be taking officials out of state just to have those other experiences.” They are safely in the mix for the five-star recruit and number six overall player per the On3 Consensus, who is described as a “physically developed tackle who excels as a mauling run blocker.”
