Washington WR Kelvin Harmon has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the 2020 season.
Harmon suffered the injury getting in shape for camp. The No. 206 overall pick of last year’s draft, Harmon made some noise down the stretch for Washington’s undermanned receiver corps. Although he lacked an ADP in fantasy drafts, Harmon was on track for a 2020 role. Washington’s receiver depth chart is now ludicrously thin behind Terry McLaurin. Steven Sims and Antonio Gibson’s arrows are pointed skyward. Five months shy of his 24th birthday, Harmon is not much of a Dynasty league stash.

  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Kelvin Harmon caught 3-of-5 targets for 33 yards in the Redskins’ Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.
Harmon failed to find the end zone all season, finishing with a 27-332-0 line on 39 targets. Harmon did put together three performances with at least 50 yards between Weeks 11 and 17, but life as the usual No. 3 WR in this run-first offense was (predictably) not all that fantasy friendly. Harmon could be fighting for a roster spot in 2020 if Paul Richardson and Trey Quinn return to good health. All three of those WRs would be tentatively expected to work behind at least Terry McLaurin and potentially Steven Sims.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
Terry McLaurin (concussion) is out for Week 17 against the Cowboys.
Landon Collins (shoulder) will also miss Sunday’s finale. McLaurin was a bright spot for Washington this year, spanning 919 yards on his team-high 58 catches. Seven of those grabs went for touchdowns, good for second-most among rookies. With McLaurin sitting this one out, Steven Sims and Kelvin Harmon will lead the Redskins’ pass-catching corps in Dallas.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Kelvin Harmon caught 3-of-5 targets for 51 yards in the Redskins’ Week 13 win over the Panthers.
Harmon is playing but can’t be trusted in fantasy with the Redskins looking to run whenever possible. Terry McLaurin is still the No. 1 target and only receiver worth owning in standard-sized leagues. Harmon is a deep, deep sleeper in dynasty leagues with a path to playing time.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Kelvin Harmon caught 3-of-6 targets for 43 yards in Washington’s Week 12 win over the Lions.
Harmon got the start over Paul Richardson (1/6), seeing six targets thrown his direction for the second straight week. Dwayne Haskins’ play under center ensures only one receiver can be relevant for Washington this season, but perhaps Harmon’s newfound role lends enough usage to deem him a dynasty starter on deeper squads.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Kelvin Harmon caught 5-of-6 targets for 53 yards in the Redskins’ Week 11 loss to the Jets.
With Paul Richardson sidelined, Harmon entered the fold for Washington, and he did just fine. His biggest play of the game was a 24-yarder, which was a sample of what he did at NC State (15.1 YPR). The sixth-round rookie isn’t going to be a fantasy starter in 2020, but he is a low-level dynasty option as a potential Redskins starter in 2020.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Redskins selected N.C. State WR Kelvin Harmon with the No. 206 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Harmon (6’2/221) turned pro as a true junior after logging a career 177/2,665/16 (15.1 YPR) receiving line in three seasons, exhibiting plus play strength, strong hands, and a my-ball mentality against ACC coverage. Harmon’s athletic limitations were revealed in Indy with a 4.6-flat forty, 32 ½-inch vertical, and sluggish 7.15 three-cone time. A high-production possession receiver with a low ceiling, Harmon would do well to carve out a Mohamed Sanu-level career. Washington entered the draft looking for a No. 1 receiver, but Harmon is unlikely to be it.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
NC State junior WR Kelvin Harmon will forgo his senior season and declare for the 2019 draft.
Harmon (6'3/214) is coming off consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and ranked top-10 nationally in receiving this year. There’s concern over Harmon’s speed, but his size and red-zone skills have him in the first-round mix. Harmon joins Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf as underclassmen to declare early.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
NFL Film’s Greg Cosell questions if NC State WR Kelvin Harmon can “consistently separate and win against quality NFL coverage.”
Cosell wasn’t bullish on Harmon’s NFL projection mainly because of a lack of burst, but he did credit Harmon with size (6'2/220) and toughness. While playing with quarterback prospect Ryan Finley at NC State, Harmon posted consecutive 1,000-yard seasons but only caught four and seven touchdowns over that stretch. In 2018, Harmon scored a touchdown on just 1-of-12 red zone targets, which is surprising given his size. Despite the concerns, Harmon is currently viewed as a second-round prospect.
