Dolphins placed DT Kendrick Norton on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Norton’s football career is over following a car accident, but the Dolphins are keeping him on the roster to help cover his medical bills. It’s a classy move by the organization with Norton scheduled for even more surgeries. Norton is hoping to receive a prosthetic once he’s recovered.

The Florida Highway Patrol determined neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in Dolphins DT Kendrick Norton’s July 4 car accident.
Norton was found at fault for the accident. ESPN reports he has undergone “at least four surgeries” on his amputated left arm. He has “more surgeries ahead with hope that he will get a prosthetic afterward.” Tragically, the second-year seventh-rounder’s NFL career is at an end.

Dolphins DT Kendrick Norton is in stable condition.
Norton’s left arm had to be amputated following a car crash last Thursday morning. His football career is over, but Norton has thankfully been upgraded to stable condition. Norton entered the league as a seventh-round pick by the Panthers last year.

640 The Hurricane’s Andy Slater reports paramedics had to amputate Dolphins DT Kendrick Norton’s left arm following a car crash early Thursday morning.
His agent later confirmed the report. The good news is early reports suggest Norton’s life is not in danger, but this is obviously a tragic situation. In a statement, the Dolphins said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time.”

    Dolphins signed DT Kendrick Norton.
The 2018 No. 242 overall pick has been on the Panthers’ practice squad this season, but the Dolphins have signed him to the active roster. The rookie surprisingly entered the draft after his junior season at Miami and will likely be an early-down run defender if he can get on the field.

Panthers selected Miami DT Kendrick Norton with the No. 242 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Norton (6'3/314) was a surpise entrant into this year’s draft as a junior after an underwhelming career at The U, managing five career sacks as a two-year starter. Not a particularly outstanding athlete, Norton will likely max out as an early-down run defender.
