    Cardinals released RHP Luke Gregerson.
Gregerson was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Friday after posting a 7.94 ERA in six relief appearances this season. The 35-year-old right-hander also had a rough 7.11 ERA in 17 appearances with St. Louis last season. He’ll probably have to settle for a minor league deal on the open market if he wants to continue his playing career.

Cardinals designated RHP Luke Gregerson for assignment.
Gregerson looked like damaged goods from the moment the Cards signed him, as he dealt with nagging shoulder issues and wound up posting a 7.36 ERA over 23 appearances since the beginning of last season. Needless to say, it’s an $11 million investment they wish they could have back.

Cardinals activated RHP Luke Gregerson from the 10-day injured list.
Gregerson has yet to pitch in the majors this year after battling a shoulder injury that dates back to last summer. He pitched in 17 games for St. Louis last year and struggled to the tune of a 7.11 ERA. Gregerson has been a nice fantasy reliever in the past, although the last time he was worth of fantasy rosters was back in 2016 when he saved 15 games for the Astros. He has 66 saves in his career with the Padres, Athletics, Astros and Cardinals. He will work in middle relief until he proves himself ready for higher leverage situations.

Luke Gregerson (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Wednesday at Nationals Park.
Gregerson has joined up with the Cardinals in Washington, D.C. after posting a 1.64 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 11 minor league rehab innings. He should be activated off the injured list before the end of the week.

Luke Gregerson (shoulder) will join the Cardinals on Monday and could be activated from the injured list as soon as Tuesday.
Gregerson posted a 1.64 ERA and 10/0 K/BB ratio over 11 innings while on his rehab assignment and appears ready to rejoin the Cards’ bullpen, although he’ll meet with coaches and trainers Tuesday before a final determination is made. The veteran reliever has battled shoulder issues since the beginning of last season.

Luke Gregerson said Tuesday that his ailing right shoulder has felt “tremendously better” on his rehab assignment.
“Last year, I would have a hard time bouncing back from an outing no matter how many pitches I threw,” Gregerson said. “Right now, it seems to be–knock on wood, cross my fingers, I haven’t been getting sore.” Gregerson’s results have been good, too, as he’s allowed just one run with a 7/0 K/BB ratio over eight innings. He’s headed to Double-A Springfield for some less structured appearances and is poised to be activated soon.

Luke Gregerson (shoulder) is set to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Palm Beach.
Gregerson has battled shoulder woes since last season but finally appears to be on the mend. It’s unclear how much time he’ll need in the minors, but the veteran figures to join the Cardinals’ pen later this month. He’ll serve in a setup capacity upon his return.

Cardinals’ general manager John Mozeliak indicated Saturday that Luke Gregerson (shoulder) has “not felt right” during his throwing program this winter.
The veteran right-hander is expected to be limited as spring training begins as the team attempts to assess the issue. Gregerson was shut down in July due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder, which caused him to miss the remainder of the season.

Cardinals placed RHP Luke Gregerson on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.
It’s the same injury that caused him to miss most of last season and all of this spring training. Gregerson has been throwing off a mound, so he wouldn’t seem to be too far off from being ready for a rehab assignment.

Luke Gregerson (shoulder) threw his third bullpen session of the spring on Saturday.
Gregerson missed much of last season with a right shoulder issue and other injuries and has been slowed by the shoulder in camp. He said that while the shoulder is “starting to feel tremendously better,” he’s yet to take “that big jump forward.” The veteran reliever will begin the season on the injured list and it’s unclear when he might be game-ready.
